So we got Makoto's backstory it wasn't always easy for him despite being popular at the bar where he was the owner but his mother died from cancer and he was just fake smiling until now... entering a boys band was a good idea for him indeed

Interesting backstory for Makoto.

Surprisingly, this has become one of my favorite shows of the season. I really like the story and all the characters.

Surprisingly profound episode.

Kakizaki when young was beaten and told to work as a Host. Then he did it to send his sister overseas and pay his mom's medical bills. When the mom passed he lost all sense of purpose since all he had done was live for others. When he realized it was finally time to live for himself, he didn't know what to do. And the Idol project was right there ...

This will probably resonate with a lot of older adults who have gotten so used to sacrificing and giving themselves to their spouses, kids, work, relatives that they forget they also need what the newer generation refers to as "self care" and "me time".

Episode 6 is confirmation that Kakizaki is the best character in the entire show.

He was my favourite right from episode one (which shocked me cos I normally don't like the "host character"), so I'm glad his backstory proved he's a good guy.

He's a good man, but I have sky-high hopes for Best Eternalboy Yamanaka.

A very heartfelt backstory for Makoto Kakizaki and now he's one of my favorite characters in the show.
