| anime does tend to have an annoying habit of going to great lengths to redeem or justify the bad guys. But at least in this instance Shouya made an effort. It's kinda the point of the movie, it's about guilt, atonement and redemption. Ueno is another matter. Lots of focus on her but I don't remember seeing even the slightest hint of guilt for her part in the bullying. But by the end it seems like we're supposed to forgive her. That's my main problem with this movie. |

| The mc is really tall, and pretty appealing so even the deaf check can forgive him. Halo effect In all honesty though, the mc is supposed to be a pseudo self insert for the viewer so he ends up with the waifu. That is the most satisfying way to end such a story. |
