This season was such a disappointment. The last few episodes were just characters fooling around without any plot development like they even put Lanzhu's and Miya's character arc in one episode and we didn't get to see R3BIRTH and it just doesn't make sense. I would have been so much more happier if they at least give Lanzhu and Miya a full episode to flash out there characters and give us R3BIRTH rather than this slice of life bulshit.

It wasn’t a disappointment at all because it felt like a improvement over the first season but it could’ve been better but I’m satisfied for what we got.

the first half was decent but the second half was pretty bad like it was just slice of life without any progression and the only new song we got was Future Parade

I really liked the first season because it did so many things in such a good way with the characters and their story, but here I felt like the new three girls got nothing, especially compared to their game's counterpart.

Admittingly Mia didn't suffer from that as much, but Lanzhu and especially Shioriko felt like less than one-dimension characters. Shioriko had such a compelling, complex and interesting story in-game and in the anime they stripped almost all of it, gave her almost a 180 degrees different attitude, and even the bit that was kept (like being the student council president) was done as an afterthought.

I knew they couldn't fit their entire stories in 12 episodes, but I secretly hope they wouldn't try - they'll maybe have another season, or just do something different but *good* like in the first season, but sadly it didn't happen.

I think they had to walk a fine line for how to cram so much story from the game into the anime, especially when a large portion of the story was so poorly recieved by fans.

The game's story is much better, of course it has one problem or another, but Lanzhu's arc is much better developed and also has Setsuna and Shioriko's battle for the academic council that was cut.

The story in the anime seems very empty, everything is resolved quickly and leaves no consequences, many have no purpose. But anyway, I didn't expect much from the second season, since I didn't liked the first one too. At least the Superstar will be back soon to show what a good love live really is.

this series is not like other series that take part in love live contests, they only do idol activities at their school without taking part in competitions. so the character development feels slow coupled with the joining of new characters..
but i enjoy this anime and the songs are good too

I think that some people in this thread don't realize that characters can develop while "fooling around", and in this case they definitely did.

NIji S2 did a very good job of developing all the characters in an almost equal way. I don't get where you people are coming from.

You mean "let's suddenly bring back the school shutting down plot in the middle of the season for no good reason and then completely forget about it until it's anti-climatically resolved in a single scene in the finale with literally money that came out of nowhere" Superstar? If there's something I'd call empty, resolved quickly with no consequences or purpose, it's Superstar's story, not Niji's.

Niji, both S1 and S2, has one of if not the best written stories in this entire franchise.

love live writing has always been mediocre what did you guys expect

don't remember any of the new characters' names expect shioriko because she constantly looks like she's extremely pissed off lol. there's a chinese one and one trying to sound american i think. her song sounded like it's pop from 2007 which is cool i guess

It was good overall. I honestly found Sunshine S2 (as well as the movie) more disappointing than this.
