| Solid episode, we’re heading towards the climax now. With only two episodes tho I’m wondering how the pacing will be handled down the stretch. Seems like a lot to wrap up in a couple of episodes. Albeit it has been a really long time since I played the games. |

| Xiuying faces Dou Niu and the other Yellow Heads, but it's obvious that they captured Zhu Yuanda and fled away. Ryo has no choice but to face Xiuying if it means defeating Lan Di, and enquire the help of Joy and the others to get Zhu back in storming the Yellow Heads HQ. From an old man testing Ryo's fight in the darkness to the Yellow Heads underground fights for a one-way ticket into the HQ with scout Huo Yuandao, everything must be seamless. It's time to storm the Yellow Head Building and retreieve back Zhu Yuanda...and this is where Disc 3 gets good. |

| "Steel yourself for the consequences" -Ryo proceed to one-two shot the other fighters- Why have a fairly tall building if they wont do maintenance? I hope Joy have a chance to at least beat up some high-up. |

| Xiuying is too much for Fatman. Ryo must fight other fighters to get into the yellowhead building, I don't remember them being that easy lmfao. 2/3 and they leave the best one out. This is a good adaptation, but I can't help but notice they miss out the most iconic moments which is a shame. |

Indeed, how can they include the other two but not Chunyan who was the most interesting one?  Good episode otherwise they have done great job overall covering the 2nd game. |

| Psst... New viewers if you're still enjoying the show. There's also Shenmue the game to check out ;) ;) You can check out Dou Niu in all his 3D glory. Xiuying is there too and Joy I guess if you really want to see more of thosee two. But who cares about those two, when you can have big ol' Dou Niu for yourself. But if Dou Niu ain't enough I think all the characters in the show so far are in the games too, even that Nozomi girl from the first episode. Also Xiuying was so sick this episode.  |

| I even thought they wouldn't include anything from the street fights, because these fights don't have anything important in argument in the games, but actually they included something, even Ren betting against Ryo XD. Love watch Xiuying fighting and the backstory of Joy, the end of this episode didn't happen like this in the games, right? I wonder how it will continues the next episode, but surely will be great, disc 3 end is awesome. How I'm gonna miss this when it ends, they have done a great job. I just imagine while I zap on tv to see this, and it's a dream come true. Now all that remains is for Shenmue IV and V to come out soon, and next season of this amazing anime, please. |

| Xiuying manged to fend off the Yellow Heads by herself and rescue Ryo. She also revealed that her brother left in pursuit of revenge and warns Ryo not to follow down the same dark path as him. Xiuying decides to teach Ryo another technique that help him against the Yellow Heads. We now know why Joy feels uneasy when the Yellow Heads are mentioned as they were responsible for her mothers death that lead them to seizing control of Hong Kong. |

| Interesting to see some backstory for Joy, I remember you could have a few conversations with her and with other people about her but I don't remember any information about her mother. I also really liked how the episode ended, surprisingly tense. "he sought revenge?" YES DAMNIT THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT SHE JUST SAID 5/10 dropped. just super mediocre He's a naive 18 year old boy who is in a story that's primarily about martial arts. Xiuying told him that Lan Di would kill him at his current skill level if he were to fight him. Ryo needs to learn more about martial arts to hold his own against Lan Di and that's what he does in Shenmue 2. Right now he's still wants his revenge and to kill Lan Di because it's very fresh in him mind and he sees no danger in pursuing it so he'll rush into everything assuming he'll overcome it. Xiuying is both trying to help him become a better martial artist and stop his quest for revenge and that is why she acts the way she does and Ryo acts the way he does. Everyone he meets is helping him because he is literally being led to people who are meant to help him, beyond Joy who is just attracted to him and wants to help him due to that. He touches the band aid on his face for the same reason a character would touch a memento, it's the remind him of why he is on this quest and in this episode it was also needed for Ren to question him about it, besides that's such a non issue you've brought up where there are other, more credible problems this anime has that you could've discussed. Also, the game does that "repeat the last thing the character said" shtick as well, it's pretty much a Ryo Hazuki thing that they brought into the anime. A shame to drop it 11 episodes in, especially when all the martial arts stuff you're complaining about is finally over, although you'd probably hate how it'll end anyhow so it's probably for the best. |
