This show wasn't bad... but it wasn't too original and I think with a Part II/Season II things would pick up.

I do like the main 3 leads hope in the second half, things get more explored and expanded. It's nice to see a show in a lower score mark that does grow overtime and the last episode was solid enough for me.

i wasn't able to get through this show but that doesn't mean i hate it, it's just that I'm watching alot of airing anime this season that this was kinda overshadowed, i ended up procrastinating watching it and last night skipped through the remaining episodes so i pretty much understand what happened but it didn't hit hard enough, when part 2 comes i might give it another binge though, a solid 6 for me

For sure Orient is a pretty generic battle shonen and starts slow however I feel like the main issue was the poor adaptation that this was. Visually it was below average, series like Edens Zero or Fire Force (Orient ran along with them in the same magazine for years) have much better quality. Also, the fights that are supposed to be the selling point of battle manga/anime, they weren’t smooth at all.

yeah it started picking up at the end so season 2 or part 2 should be pretty good probably will rate higher than season1 part 1.

I thought it was a fair show. 5/10

I love it too, I was watching “Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest” at the same time as Orient, and Sage was rated far higher the whole season which was insane to me. Orient isn’t amazing by any standards, but it was better than that trashcan show I’m glad it’s at least getting a decent rating now.

Although I gave this show a 5, I genuinely think the last four episodes took it in a really interesting direction that made me actually excited for part 2. If those first 7-8 episodes were better/more coherent, this could’ve easily been much higher for the majority of the season

The show doesn't look good and has wonky pacing. People say the biggest criticism is that it is unoriginal, but I thought it was fine for the most part...

Then they revealed that the MC is a special snowflake with a mysterious power hidden within him, and I dropped the show

Show isn't bad at all, just standard, and also objectively no worse than so many hyped battle shounen and isekai shows, the difference here is the animation quality, look at the atrocious thing that is The God of High School and that thing still has a 7 score solely because of MAPPA's animation, now imagine Orient with that level of animation, unfortunately the western community became too much of a sakuga bitch lately, you can be absolutely terrible and still get praised only because of animation (and no, this isn't a hidden criticism towards Yaiba)

Most of the people that hated it dropped the anime before episode 3, thus their score didn't count to the total resulting in the increase of the score.
