So it looks like I stopped reading it back in 2014 and I had gotten up to chapter 102. I'm thinking of reading the manga from the start so that I can finish this.

From the looks of it, the manga sort of took a hiatus mid-2015 at chapter 113 and the final 18 chapters took a further 5 years to be released and end the manga. I think the reason it went into Hiatus is because of the mangaka's health (the same mangaka for FMA).

Currently she illustrates the manga version of Arslan Senki (which is based on a novel series that ended in 2017, it had a hiatus or two during it's run as well).

So, back to the original question? was the manga rushed to completion so that she can put an end to this series?

I don't think it was, the Time start going faster but it does a great work with the story and don't feel rushed. Just finished it and I feel empty, it was a great end!

I just finished the manga also after binge watching two seasons of the anime. I do think that if she wanted to she could have written more chapters as there was simply so much she could do with the premise and the characters. Such as reducing the time jumps and sharing more about other food processing methods. Unfortunately, she was going through a tough period in her life and I think that's what brought the early ending.

I mean I still love the manga but I can't help but have the 'What could've been' feeling.Gave it a 9/10 for that reason. /:

Yeah, I think it was.

Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty satisfying ending for me but she completely skips their second year at high school and a lot of the third year, if memory serves. It's pretty clear that the final chapters were a "Let's finish this as fast as possible without pissing off the fans too much" type of deal.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I think I will re-read the manga from the start and enjoy it for what it's worth.

I've just finished reading this today. The only thing I felt that was kinda rushed was when one of the teachers commented that Hachiken changed a lot in three years, when just a few chapters before, he was just starting his second year, so that was strange. Overall, for a story that encompasses three years of high school (what the author planned from the start, according to the last volume, except for the last two chapters) I guess that is well-paced anyway. I guess that for those who read it while it was being published it must have felt a lot weirder.

Yes, it was a rushed. Author's relative was sick, so even there were lot of breaks for just few chapters before it finally completed. 2nd years and 3rd year was extremely rushed because of that. She initially planned for a whole after Graduation too but it was just turned into 2 chapter or so
It had so much more potential if not for rushing
