This is reminiscent of Chapter 6 with a great start to season 1. From then on the series tapered towards more of the typical light hearted SOL route which slightly disappointed me considering it's weighted score.

I'm hoping this season doesn't taper off in terms of impactful moments like it did in season 1.

Season 1 lacked impactful moments true but it set up the groundwork for the next season. Since we both share Oregairu as a common favorite, you should know that the heavy-hitting moments in Zoku and Kan wouldn't be as effective if we didn't have the first season. Sure, you can argue that Sangatsu's season 1 was a chore to sit through, but in no way was it "bad" or "undeserving of its score", looking beyond the point of entertainment, I would go as far as to say that season 1 of Sangatsu is the best-written show on this whole damn site!

While setting foundations is within good reason, many shows are able to pull more impact on me in one season. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference in what one desires to get out of entertainment.

Critically viewed, season 1 is visually and sonically captivating. But personal preference wise is where it's ability to keep me pulled in was that of an 8 gauging off other 8's on my list.

This was one of the best episodes I've ever seen. I guess it's in the top 10 best rated anime for a reason.

Bullies are the worst.. Education system sucks the most for them existing..
Damn, that teacher sucks.. Probably is relative to the one of the bullies.. Or maybe she is afraid of the some influential parents of the bullies, who knows.. Either way, education system sucks in this, whatever is the twisted answer..
Rei spends more time with Kawamoto sisters.. At least this is nice to see.. ;P
Although ending is as if hopeful or something.. Situation isn't resolved, really.. This can go any way, really.. I personally would want it to be resolved, don't want to see suffering on this frustrating topic.. But will see, what anime will decide to show..

Hmm I watched countless of animes with the same topic, but this episode delivered the feelings quite well. I hope this one episode is not the highlight I've heard about so much in previous season topics though. I still have high hopes for this series. Currently it would be a decent 8/10 for me

This episode is definitely the highlight of the show, or at least, one of many, and much of them are yet to come! This episode is the start of an unbelievably strong streak of top-tier Sangatsu episodes.

Re-watch here, and this episode was even more beautifully executed than I remember. Pretty sure I cried even more this time around. 11/10 for the best episode in anime. Don't know if my eyes are ready for the rest of the arc.

I’m not emotionally dead or anything, in fact I’m quite sensitive. But tears rarely flow out of me. Whether shows or irl stuff, I can count the number of times tears rolled down my cheeks. So, for this episode to make my eyes water is a very good indicator of how strong the show is and how invested I’ve gotten. Not saying I rate shows that make me cry 10/10, but the shows that I do rate 10/10 usually does make me cry

This entire episode/show is phenomenal!
when Rei runs after Hinata gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. It really is one of the most emotionally effective moments I've seen in a long time, and not just in an anime. Also, it must be said that Hina and Grandpa's voice actors, Kana Hanazawa and Shigeru Chiba, knocked it out of the damn park.

It's by no means the greatest anime episode of all time but damn even years after watching it originally, it's still a powerful one for sure even now. One of the more emotional and consistently great Sangatsu episodes so far for sure.

Although the whole concept of the best anime episode is highly subjective, why would you say that this "by no means the greatest anime episode of all time"?

When I initially watched it back in 2017, I thought it was one of the best episodes I've seen. It's still great but yeah, it doesn't feel as high in its place as it used to be.

As a victim of bullying in middle and high school also, I used to always cower and afraid to do anything but after my long bottled up emotions, it was snapped when I was in my second year of high school.

I never was a type of an athletic teenager, I do basketball but I was fat, enough to get bully. But I do play basketball daily so probably I got enough stamina & strength.

That day when my last string of patience snapped, I pummeled the guy that bullied me, multiple times with my fists. I vividly remembered what happened back then but after several hard punches, that asshole fled and my body shivered like crazy. First time in my life my blood boiled that hard. I can't even move a single inches as my body froze in place. I don't know what this condition called in terms of medic, but after several minutes, i calmed down and can move my body back like normal.

I don't really recommend to retaliate like I used to do against your bully, but sometimes, that's the only way you could stop all that bullshit bullying since even that asshole who bullied me just stop and won't even show his face in front of me ever again since then. Just punch multiple times real hard.

PS : Only do this when any other good options isn't even working anymore like telling your teachers or smth like that.

This episode was so sad. It really reflects the bitter truth of how it goes in most schools in Japan and even the teachers don't give a shit about it.

Was going to say that I wasn't a fan of the typical comically-evil bullies and even teacher, but I'm reminded that this sh*t can be very real so I guess with the way that it was handled here, you can't really call it comically evil. Hina took the best she could out of the worst situation, and still thought of others before herself; and her grandpa was there to remind her that what she did was the right thing. Mad respect all around.

This episode is hauntingly and emotionally stunning, poor Hina being bullied this much really makes you feel bad for her everytime you see her, great speech from Grandpa to lift up hers and other family members spirits during such unfortunate times.

This show is definitely going the right direction in every way it moves

Hina is the mfking goat.
Also Rei with the part of him saying  "I want to find them, and rip them limb from limb." personally I despise bullying so much that I consider that a valid thing to do.

Oh nah this was peak...i really relate to this arc as a brother. Especially the part of Rei thinking to tear the bullies apart limb from limb. I'm glad he's helping others out instead of being helped, good char dev.

Momo crying got me crying man, when one person in the house is sad then everyone else is sad. It's a beautiful family bond. Hina didn't do shit wrong, she was just being a good friend. Now my shirts wet

karma is what those girls need to fear. they might be riding high now thinking they're the queens and whatnots, but in the end, i'm pretty sure those girls who bullied hina's friend will end up in the very bottom of the totem pole with nothing to show for. that's great of gramps to praise hina for having the courage to step up and help her friend instead of cowering away like the other girls fearing the wrath of those bullies.

One thing that hits hard into my heart is the fact Hina is crying not only because she is worried about her being alone in school, but also because she thought she can't help her friend... She also still believes that she did nothing wrong even after went through all of that. Hina is so pure, really.

Someji is goated for praising Hina's hard work and understanding her situation, I wish there are a lot of old people like him these days.

And Rei, even though this situation triggering his past memories, but he is still wanting to help Hina by listens to her worries and trying to cheer her up.

Warm meals for dinner is the best when you are having a bad day, and Akari provides this for her little sister.

Momo is also crying for her sister too.

Sad episode, but I really love how the characters in this anime giving all the positive vibes they got and makes this series into a heartwarming one to watch.

That was a pretty mature episode. And I hope they deal with that failure of a teacher before dealing with the bully.
