For a show about card battles, they're sure turning up the action again.

Hiro even has that red aura around him so he's fired up again. Seems the kid is pretty excited about facing his opponent and testing his abilities. Good match though. Hiro's actually impressing me at this early portion of the show.

Hiro's buddy Shindo should be stronger, I mean he already lost easily in episode 3 in a very long running anime. Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens has Yuuga's buddy beat Yuuga, in comparison.

And nobody who likes Shadowverse is a bad person (while Takuma steal a phone in the first episode).

Seeing the attention put to each monster's introduction, and to the action involving them, it reminded me of what appealed me the most in Hearthstone, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon. The monsters truly are the faces of a game. They both stimulate the imaginary, with fantaisist references, as well as permit to fantasize about being powerful.

Not bad, but this was the first episode to bore me a bit. I hope they change the formula up a bit.

Gotta establish some rival characters before moving on with the plot. As per normal of a show. Per normal of a card anime.

Did anyone else expect Kai to use a Portalcraft deck instead of Runecraft? I feel like that would have fit his character better considering his attitude.

Self-proclaimed "genius" eh? lol

And yea... MC only won with plot armor card... again... well, not that uncommon, pretty much the same as Yu-Gi-Oh MCs. Main Card always win.

My face when someone plays goblin warpack on turn 9

Ah, yes, genius at dice rolling

Oh, im sorry, a genius among geniuses at dice rolling!

Yeah, for real, how can he tell he'll win at turn 7, when going first or second matters a lot.
The first battle was so ridiculous, lmao. "I'll play turn 1 quicklblader" followed up by "Majica?? majicaaaa??? This is a power of witch class" and Whoooop from 20 life to 0... O-ok :L

I loled when Hiro called Runecraft/Witch a peaceful class LOL. Cause his previous opponents were pretty aggressive. And as a dragon you'd rather play against someone slow to get that precious time.

But don't underestimate Spellboost, as Daria has been my favorite deck to play with Runecraft being my favorite class, it's an absolute pleasure to raise those spellboost points.

Ahhh clay golem so cute, always loved that bulky mud boy(and Manaria friends had the same one in one of the episode <3)

Ahahahaha, SNOWMAN? seriously hahahaha... Getting excited over this shit? It's a 3 mana spell that summons 1 snowman, but if you play spells, the number of snowmans summoned is increased. But they are still just 1/1s, they provide the same value as snowman in real life which is none. And they take up the board space so if you want to play something else on the board you end up killing those poor guys off.
Maaan, and here i thought, with all that excitement he was gonna summon 0 mana 8/8 giants and say: "KEIKAKU DORI", disappointing lol.

Gotta say, clayman and snowman's attack were well animated, i need gifs, now...
And Windblast too, since in game it has no wind animation i even forgot that it has wind in its name lol. Look how cool it is.

Oh, nice snowmen dying to 2 mana spell that does 1 damage to all lol. All that excitement and hype for what? Genius among geniuses my ass...

Lol, i thought Hiro is gonna smack his ass with that OP 7 mana anime only dragon card that deals 3 to all enemies upon attack. But i'm glad anime went a little bit original and let him show the other ways dragon can be played.

Did he just evolve a storm card for 2 extra damaga? haha, I guess all his previous opponents being really aggressive in terms of face damage influced him to become a face master haha.

Did he really just accept him because he played 2 mana spell that killed his board and then evolve his storm card? hahahaha.

"KEIKAU DORI" haha, he actually said it.

Runecraft/Witch turns sure are crazy, i'm glad they mad this "genius of geniuses" calculating, serious guy play the class that requires calculations.

"Mada mada" Hiro surely takes a page from the book of most shonen protagonist.

Hahahaha, this guy's backstory, hahahahaha. Top at everything you can possibly be a top at, but finds a children's card game more challenging hahaha. Imagine throwing away your genius capabilities to become some of the greatest minds in the world, to play a card game where most of the time you just roll the dice and be dependant on luck to win you the game.

Just when i thought that Hiro got this, his opponent only has 2 cards, he plays an OP old man who resurrects everything lol... okayyy.

Lol i like how they even have an audience for the match who basically watch the same thing we are currently watching.

......... I take back what i said, right when MC is a pinch, IGNIS DRAGONNNNNN... eww, give the dude other options :v and stop being so freaking lucky and drawing it every time that you are about to lose.

Lol those faces after hearing him debunk his game lol

-----------------
TLDR: "Geniu amongst all geniuses" is so smart that he chose to pursue a children's card game where most games are decided on draws and random elements, basically dice rolling. Got it!
And he also makes predictions on which turn opponent will lose, which obviously is bullshit, you can't know how lucky you or your opponent will get, you get a RANDOM draw every turn. And its not guaranteed you will go first.
Hiro won with the same bullshit anime luck, AGAIN. Just have the perfect card whenever you need = win. Ignis dragon ffs...

Fine episode.

This episode at least showed actual turns and what's going on in the match. Which is improvemnt from first two trash episodes where they started match and WTF was even going on there...

If they want to make it like yu-gi-oh they should figure out WHY people loved first Yu-gi-oh.... cus the fights were details and everything was explain. Match were 2-4 episodes longs. That what was good in it. Not like start match and then skip 5 first turn -_-

I like how they added a whole new effect to Ignis Dragon. Since when did Ignis Dragon deal damage equal to the enemy follower with the highest attack when it attacks.

This battle was the most exciting one so far and a lot better than the last two battles. I like Kai too, he's a funny character.

Three wins in a row thanks to Ignis Dragon. I don’t know about the real one, but looks pretty game breaking in the anime.
