| Yusei can't fight on the same level without synchro monsters as with them. So they didn't figure out how to be able to fight ghost without synchros. Nice dress/skirt, Aki and Ruka. Nice, suit Rua. I like how Yusei and Crow just attended the Premium event with their normal clothes (unless they don't own any other clothes outside Crow's delivery uniform which would actually be pretty sad). I like how one of the first things Carly says is asking where Jack is. Oh gods, Jack, that outfit... the sparkles... please... no, how could you actually spend Crow's hard-earned money money on that. We learn more about Ghost's affiliation, and the mystery biker from the OP appears before Yusei telling him to basically get better/evolve. |

| God what is with the writing staff's weird phobia of having Yusei lose on-screen? His nightmare duel would've been the perfect place for him to lose as a wake-up call, but even that situation didn't have a result. Same with Jack versus Yusei here which was the perfect spot for Yusei to lose since it wouldn't have hurt the plot. But no, Jack simply decided to leave. :/ Yusei wanting a new way to combat Ghost made sense, but his way of doing it was pathetic. The best way would've been to use Fusion strategies or the Assault Mode cards, but instead he relied on something else that clearly wasn't as good. Also why the hell was there a whole party made for a tournament that wouldn't even start for another year in anime time? |
| Yusei giving up Synchro Summoning seems to scorn the entire core of his main character powers. What's even the point of having a piece of the Crimson Dragon if you aren't going to use it? That being said, is the tournament about to happen in a couple of episodes? I'm pretty sure it isn't. This is a weird time to for this episode to take place, seeing as it seems like it's promoting and building hype for the tournament. |

| While Yusei was in the right mindset of asking Jack to be a training partner to try a non-synchro strtegy, his method was completely half-arsed. First, he used the exact same deck with possibly a few cards switched out. At it's core, it was still a Synchro-focused deck so trying to win without Synchros was always going to fail against a competent opponent. Second, while a consistently strong opponent to test against, Jack is narrow-minded and stubborn in his ways. He's all about power and also Synchro-focused, so is the ccompletely wrong type of deck to test against if you're hoping to beat and anti-synchro opponent. Seems rather weird to be having that gathering for the WRGP if the participants haven't even been confirmed yet. No other team even seemed to be there other than Unicorn with their leader having that stupid front spike of hair :P |
