Realization as to why this show isn't great.

After 9 episodes I've finally realized what's wrong with this show. It's the genre. Love comedy doesn't work for kindergarten students. If they had gone the route of rugrats where the kids use their imaginations to get into fun-filled adventures like kids actually do, I'm sure I would have liked it more.

In the End, was it worth it?

The romance only seems to effect the teachers anyway, the kids do seem very rugrat-esque to me personally. Anzu's obsession with Tsuchida is just an excuse for more mayhem!

Its like two different approaches to a single story. I guess it depends how you look at it.

I think it's the kind of series you just have to take with a grain of salt, it is what it is.

Personally, I think it's pretty good.

I dropped it after 4 episodes.

I could have accepted the weird obsession thing if the anime had really been about Hanamaru Kindergarden and that thing was only a part of it. Instead, I felt it was about Anzu. So in a way the anime revolves around Anzu's obsession.

And why the hell is Anzu's mother supporting this? I thought that was weird and should not be potrayed as acceptable.

I pity whatever child you or OP might raised in the future
It's not a romcom series, it's a pure comedy series. It's normal for kid to have a crush at adults, especially at a young age when they don't know what love is. And it doesn't veer into dangerous territory at any point, so you shouldn't go and discourage them. They are kids, it's okay to be stupid and annoying.

I can even overlook anzu's part part but as I wrote in my reply, her mother is definitely wierd.
