| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Ah so novels and literature in general was out of fashion at the time. Not surprising though, since it was during the economic boom and all. Again, there's a kind and wise dirty old man. That contrast again. Well maybe this old man was not so kind, still he gave her that real magical flower, whatever that was. I wonder whether this sudden, or even bizarre, element of fantasy will lead to something interesting in later chapters. |
| An English major that sees novels as lame. So far, it's a cynical manga that criticizes our world. You have a guy that pays for prostitutes, while lecturing said woman about settling down one day. You have an English major that doesn't see the need for books. You have a guy sleeping with a married woman for money, while judging her for it. You have a dad who married a woman that's half his age, but he wants his daughter to settle down. It's also implied that he was paying the woman, that he married after his wife died, for sex while married to his late wife. The MC's sister basically told a guy a story that she wanted to read, but then trashed it and said it was predictable when he wrote what she wanted him to write. It's a criticism of the audience who says they want one thing, but then trash it when they get it. |
