DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Episode aired 30 mins later than usual due to Tokyo Olympics. https://re-main.net/news/onair3/ https://twitter.com/remain_anime/status/1416955957351837698 It's been a week's break, but IMO feels like it's enough to break this show's momentum of being decent. The hunt for the 6th guy to complete the team: Shugo "The Mask" Amihama (who joined track, but is apt in water sports), and the amnesiac Minato is just as lost as how to recruit him to the water polo club with Jo's intel. But apparently, he also has his own personal issues not to touch swimming as well. And just as everyone tried as they might to surround Shugo to help find ways to get hm back to swimming, I must admit that that's quite a stretch for the straightforward guy. And whatever it is, it's the exact same appalling result. But with much prying with Babataro's enquiry, they're able to do so...not without a challenge issued, just llike Ejiri's the previous episode. Only this time, the challenge is a time-based 1 vs. 6 150-metre relay with a 20-second handicap for the blazingly fast Shuugo, and cut as much time as they possibly can to focus on the weak members to compensate for lost time. Time for the race...but there's just too much of an athletic difference between Shugo and the rest, and he made it out on top by a hair. Well...OK...so what now? How to pester Shugo some more for persuasion? |

| Looks like they have to work somehow to get Amihama on their Water Polo Team. And, wow their acting. LMAO. I didn't think Inomata would be with such a gentle personality, but I really like him. They really tried hard against Amihama but couldn't win. His decision will be revealed in the next episode. Pretty alright episode. It's just the build-up for the last three episodes. |

| The captain is again using Minato's fame to gain an advantage, even though Minato doesn't remember anything, and is clearly uncomfortable. Amihama has said 'no' over and over, but no one is willing to respect his choice at all. Am I supposed to cheer for these collection of jerks? And, based on the OP, Amihama will actually end up joining too. Quiet guys are normally cute, but Yoshiharu just sounds like a pervert when he speaks. And, Babayaro sounds like he wants to sound like Yoshiharu. So, even the voice actors don't seem very interested enough in this anime. |
| I keep having the same problem every week. The pacing is just awful at times, and it's all over the place. The second half of the episode was better than the first half, but still. I wonder if this'll be a long cour considering how slow it's going. |

| This episode was better than the last two in my opinion. Especially the jokes, because this time around they werent done in serious moments and did not interrupt the overall flow of the show. Although i dont love the characters, i do have to be honest and say that i do find their interactions between each other to be quite good and entertaining. I did find it funny how the faces of the show are already melting a little bit in its third episode lol. The actual swimming was actually pretty decent, it was just when they were talking you could clearly see they didnt had the time to finish some of the faces lol. |
| An OK episode. The story is nothing special; typical trying recruit an ace to your team episode. The jokes can be hit or miss with this show, but this episode was mostly OK. The pacing is starting to be a little questionable. Unless they are planning on a second cour, they really won't have any time left for actual matches, which would be a shame. |

| The competition was pretty cool, it's a shame they lost unless they pull out some random technicality on why they won next episode. Given the premise, I keep expecting this 'Body moved before I could think" moment but it really does seem like the show intends to have Minato start afresh. The animation for Ushi's swimming made him out to be way worse than he probably was. It felt like he was flailing around trying to move forward than actually swim. |

| Good episode, definitely better than the first two. The scenes where they were trying to convince Amihama with their acting was hilarious lmao, good effort. Well, they lost, not really surprised, but I wonder how else they're gonna convince Amihama to join. I really like Minato's family and how they supportive they are. |

| Minato’s reactions are so funny & cute XD Ejiri is so hot. I want to see more of his thighs. More ED visuals!!!!! Soaked in the rain ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎ It was nice seeing Minato getting back into it. His body makes him remember how it’s like in the water. I wonder what happened to Amihama‘s brother/family...... Can’t wait to see them actually play water polo. | I think instead of trying to pressure Amihama into joining the water polo club they need to find out 𝘸𝘩𝘺 he doesn't want to swim anymore. They just assumed it's because he beat his brother so lost his motivation but his reaction tells you it's something deeper than that. |

| Well, Amihama will join the team just the same in a way or another, no way they dedicated an entire episode to him for nothing. The question is, how will they convince him? Very pleasant anime. |
| Dammit they should've asked for a larger handicap to make up for having three people who haven't swam much before. Still mad impressive to see Amihama win from the others especially with that 20 second delay. |

| I generally avoid watching sports anime but after the lovely Yuri on Ice and more recently Bakuten!! I have warmed up to them. And Re-Main looks and feels a lot like Bakuten, except it features amnesia and a different sport. What will happen to the boys now that they lost that contest? How are they going to persuade Amihama to join them? We know that he eventually joins them because the OP helpfully spoils it for us :) |
