| I don't understand how this is considered Shonen and not Shoujo? Doesn't Shonen mean that an anime/manga is targeted predominantly at boys? This does NOT feel like an anime targeted at boys! So shouldn't it be tagged as Shoujo? |

| Looking at the source, the manga, it was published in Shounen Gangan, that's why it's tagged as shounen. It's the target demographic of the magazine. |

| It's target demographic are teenage to young adult males (shounen) and it kinda fits typical shounen tropes with character interactions, development and story progression. Not to the letter, but still. |

| Almost every Square Enix manga I have read has a female author yet they are shounen, not all of them feel exactly like it but that's their target audience. |
