Literal karma for Himeno? She dropped a cup pottery that didn't easily break last episode, but broke a ceramic bowl this time...and it's her father's favourite bowl.

So therefore, get to work on hand-making another bowl...one that's preferred to hold the weight of Ochazuke (steamed rice in green tea), her father's favourite food. And glad that it worked out for Himeno, though it hearkens her dad to see how much she has done in the Togei-bu.

In cries from the memories...

Toyokawa broke her father's bowl which was actually really special to him. I mean, you can tell by his reaction how bad he felt. Toyokawa didn't realize why it was so special to him because it was made by her late mother as a gift to Toyokawa's father.

She tried and made him a new bowl. He was happy but not as much as he was with his previous one and she obviously caught on to that. I guess some things you just can't replace even if you want.

Episode about delivering your emotion for someone by making cup.. I can't imagine how sad her father must have been. I got devastated when my mom broke by 1 year old bowl. Very nice and simple. I prefer this kind of wholesomeness between daughter and father.

This may be me over-feeling things since I have a drinking evening with new anime releases lol but this episode actually delivered some emotions for me.
It may be that the story as for now is just cups&cute girls (without actually caring about personalities of those girls), but this value of things adn memories really got through; like the memory of MC's mother made first episosde slightly melancholic despite all the fluff. And in this shape, it satisfies all my needs. Sweet with a bit of thoughtfulness.
I wish there was more character development, it is not easily achieved with 14-minute episodes though.

Very nice episode! Felt really sad for Himeno but, that just means she has plenty of room to grow and she just recently started getting into pottery, I am sure she'll be able to make something just as good or even better than her father's old bowl.

Aw a little incident with her father memorable ochazuke bowl, in the middle of a gloomy rain season. Perfect timing, unexpectedly. At least you did a great job making all of it by yourself, Himeno. Give yourself some more credit and be more confident about that! Its looks wonderful!

Some things can't be so easily replaced. Especially a 30-year old bowl your deceased mother lovingly made for your father.

Anyways, at least Himeno took the experience as a way to encourage herself to make even greater pottery pieces in the future.

the drama feels a little bit forced, but still a comfy episode.

Ohhh no she broke the bowl her mother made 30 years ago, that's really sad, well she made one for her father but it doesn't look perfect, I would say it's not a problem, the sentimental value is more important in my opinion

Toyokawa and his country are very connected through pottery, even more so through Toyokawa's mother. A broken bowl can really hurt a person. It brings memories and emotions of life and what it represents. This time, the melancholy was evident, but in a constructive way. Enjoy the episode, the best when it comes to conveying a little message of overcoming difficulties.

An episode not along the lines of the previous ones, which somewhat disappoint me because it does not explain anything new regarding the art of ceramics, but which can still be very funny, nice and also serious. Himeno's father's speech about fallacy in the human world was very funny. An episode whose purpose revolves around the fact of showing how far the protagonist is still far from being a good ceramist even if to the viewer it may seem the opposite.

Huge hurdle for Himeno of trying to replace a 30-year old bowl created by the mother and also one that the father wants to use happily.

I think I liked this episode more than the previous ones, but also why did they reach into the kiln while it was still clearly hot? ๐Ÿ˜… Not only would they get burned but I'm pretty sure that's not good for the stuff in there either

I feel like this ep perfectly captures that emotional arc that you go through when making pottery for someone else. When you're making for yourself it's fine you know, relaxing. But also kind of aimless and wandering. When you're making for someone else it's like RIGHT! Roll up your sleeves and get to it. It's all you think about until it's done. Constantly bubbling away in the back of your mind. It even captures the relief and melancholy you get when it's all over.
