I personally hate most redemption arcs. It's probably my least favorite trope honestly. I really don't think Adam should have been redeemed, especially not that easily. It just makes the ending a bit unsatisfying and cheap.

Adam was a great villain, he made me angry and very uncomfy about his obsession with Langa and whacking people with skateboards, but he was good at being a villain nonetheless. But then in the finale he's redeemed, basically only has to reflect on where he went wrong and that's it? I don't know, I really don't think I'd be able to forgive someone like that so quickly.

I don't really think it was a redemption. If there is a next season, then we will follow his redemption. He did a lot, and his psychology is pretty fucked up. He would not redeem himself in just one run. And I don't think he's really going to stop being a villain, he had too much potential to just change that in one season. They'll probably give us a lot of Adam's ups and downs. "I know I almost killed another skateboarder, but you know, I'm in therapy"

I don't see it as a redemption arc. We get an explanation, but that doesn't justify what he did.
Ryuk is somewhat relatable

My thoughts exactly! If this is really the only season we get, the end was too abrupt and they let Adam off too easily. I actually wanted him in jail ngl. I thought that was the whole point of inspector Kiriko, but she turned out to be completely pointless and idk, she was probably only there so they could say they have mildly important female characters...
Adam is probably one of the anime villains I hate the most, so yeah, villain job well done. Tho his tragic backstory barely did anything for me. I think it only gives us a reason for his behavior, but not an excuse. You can't fucking slap someone in the head with a skateboard and expect to get away with blaming it on childhood trauma. There should be more consequences.

Yeah it wasn't.
He just had fun skateboarding again like Tadashi wanted.
But is still a corrupt politician, crashed the party for Langa in the end, never said sorry (but doesn't really need to because shadow & reki don't apologize either) & still calls Tadashi a dog (or his dog)

So he was never was really redeemed, or stopped acting the way he did.

That didn’t look like redemption at all, he is pretty fucked up character, and a good villain, I see this as an explanation of why he is what it is

It wasn't really redemption, there's a stream with all the dub VAs on LaurenLandas twitch, and Adams VA explains Adams behavior really well, of course is just a theory but with that theory Adam doesn't really need a redemption, if you want, check it out

Adam doesn't need redemption. Tadashi supporting him in skateboarding again and Adam sees with his old friends again, that's all. Langa isn't Eve for him and never was.
Adam is needed only for Langa to fully reveal his capabilities, pass the test and share his victory with Reki.

Really? Bc Langa forgave a dude who literally put his friend in a wheelchair. Do you usually forgive people who physically cripple your friends?

Cherry didn't even seem that angry at Adam. He called his wounds honorable wounds at Joe and snuck out of the hospital.

It's not like Adam forces people to sk8 with him. (Not even reki who skated with him twice)
