Because it is? I mean not with the tag in your face (Those are demographics and not genres per se) but by technicality is 100% Shoujo & Comedy. Very good and entertaining series.

I am not a huge fan of age gap MOE, like literally he is 29-30yrs and she is 16-17.this was the reason I dropped AFTER THE RAIN,the girl was 17 and she like a 45 year old man with a child.But i think I am going to enjoy this for its comedy.

Eh, Domestic sucked too but it was a hilarious and enjoyable ride. The issue isn’t the age gap; it’s only a factor into determining whether the younger party is really of emotional maturity to be making these kinds of decisions. In the case of Koi to Yobu, it seems (so far) that there is a power dynamic that stems from this age gap. I’m not going to try to defend Domestic, but the circumstances of the student-teacher “romance” were much more nuanced than the “romance” here. It made it a muddier and more morally ambiguous love, whereas older guy’s approach in Koi to Yobu is just wrong.

Yeah, I agree. Let fiction be fiction. But when it fucks up and does something objectionable, it’s not automatically immune from criticism because it’s fiction.

Don't know why people are comparing this to AFTER THE RAIN lol. This is a comedy with a 10yr age gap vs a 28yr gap Seinen romance. Not sure why 10 years is considered so extreme... it's the limits for sure but I wouldn't even consider it controversial.

There is nothing rapey about this...in fact the humour is based more on a Madonna-whore complex, than anything else. If you don't find it funny, then fair enough as comedy is subjective- but for all the other comments, you need to grow up.

Most of these works feel like shoujo because they are either written by girls or men inspired by such romance titles. Most of the "deep" romance that bypasses the sexualization of female characters and the most sitcomic humor is usually published for a purely female audience. Think back to the most recent "psychological" romance you've watched (for example, Horimiya) and how many of these titles gave such vibes.

They never had a father-daughter relationship. To say that is to devalue Akira's romantic feelings. The fact that this, for objective reasons, did not reach a full-fledged relationship does not yet make her feelings illusory.

THANK YOU! This is exactly my opinion and I couldn't have worded it better. Like, we're talking about a romcom. Why do people have to take everything so seriously?
Also, Ryo has only made romantic advances so far, not sexual, so I don't get why people call it "rapey"
