And so, that brings the end of Re; Zero Season 2 Part 2. Similar to S1, many events have gone by, many new faces has shown up and depressingly, Subaru has yet again sacrificed himself countless of time. However, there is one vast difference between the end of S1 and the end of S2 in that, finally. FINALLY!!!

Subaru is no longer alone...

Subaru, a single, simple man, treading the path of uncertainty through the endless expanse of various tribulation, with the sole force pushing him from being consumed by this excuciating madness being his naive hope for a future where all's well. The path of a lonely man only leads to a lonely end. Even if he managed to resolve everything, his pain and suffering is all his to bear. Just as it did for the end of the first season. Behind his grin of victory hid limitless agony.

This time, that is simply not the case. No... Ofc, Subaru had already experience the joy of having allies, but allies are merely built from mutual benefits. This time he had the help of various individuals that are not only allies, but are also friends, even a lover.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce to you; Otto, one of the very first character in S2 to utterly and unconditionally support Subaru, forsaking his goals and endangerting his life, simply because he's Subaru's friend. The best boy of the season, nay, a man, a great merchant but most of all, a true friend...

Ofc being one of the main character and quite literally the heroine of this entire series; Emilia herself managed to pull through the 3 trials and saw the most massive and I mean IMMENSE amount of character development. S2 Part 2 goes in depth into showing her backstory, her memories and her past connections. Oh, how weak and fragile she once was. A shy- crybaby who fell the moment tragedy struck. All that changed in S2 Part 2. After flawlessly passing through the 3 trials, she has came out and become a stronger woman whom has made peace with the tragic fate that was her childhood and now looks forward towards a seemingly impossible future where happiness awaits. You can see the resolve within her eyes and even the way she spoke has integrity behind it, nice job VA! She's no longer the girl who requires the pity of others to help her, no longer a person whose will and mind can be shattered as easily. Her new resolve is powerful as does her potential as the candidate for the throne of Lugnica.

These 2 are in my opinion, the 2 most powerful figures whose presence embraces Subaru's effort, leading him to see throguh this calamity and passing all the way until the very end where THEY not only broke the barrier of the sanctuary but managed to fend off the assasins, defeat that clown-faced clone, Roswaal and saved the villagers.

This second season is top tier! Most things people complain in S1 was resolved or answered here. I really appreciate Emilia's development, really important to the story, even Subaru and several side characters like Otto, Beatrice and Garfiel were given their moment to shine. Wonderful! S1: 8/10, S2 part 1: 9/10. S2 part 2: 10/10 for the anime.

Emilia is cute when her face is red, even her ears are red. Emilia thought that kissing would give her a child lmao.

Roswaal got a lot of slaps on this episode. Subaru has finally officially become a knight of Emilia, and Emilia looks beautiful in that dress!

The last episode was great!

Yikes, attack of the monster rabbits.

Tbh, this episode turned out to be the way I had expected to especially with Emilia's reunion with Subaru. Kinda cute really. After all the drama this season, they finally earn a bit of peace. The dance looked pretty fun especially this episode.

Nice finale.

Oh no, Emilia and the classic anime girl misunderstanding XD

I was wondering how they were gonna take care of the rabbit hoard. Glad to see Subaru get a mission success this time. Overall, another great season! Hoping for a season 3 announcement haha.

Nice Beako sealed the rabbits in another dimension. With that two of the three great mabeasts are down, one more to go. So wow this Roswaal is the first Roswaal huh, he used soul transcription. Beatrice hiting him with her shoe was hilarious.

Lol the classic, Emillia thinks she's pregnant after kissing. That was amusing. Finally Subaru became her knight, that was a touching moment. Their conversation after was touching too.

What a ride this season was. We got good character development for existing characters and even the new characters were great. Specially Echidna, I love her character so much. A lot of our questions were finally answered too. Great season overall, now hopefully we'll have season 3 announcement soon.

Thank you White Fox for adapting the part of Emilia who thinks kisses can make babies. And also the scene of Subaru being appointed Emilia's knight.

Thank you so much.

While there were some minor art and animation issues here and there this season, overall I could not be more pleased with the adaptation White Fox gave arc 4. I feel that it was a step up from arcs 1-3 in every sense. I’m happy we didn’t have any big plot points skipped like Rem and Subaru’s convo at the Fleugel tree in arc 3 that led to the “Rem got rejected” memes for 4 years. The omission of an OP and ED really added to the storytelling week in and week out.

Today’s episode was a beautiful and fitting conclusion to the season. After so much suffering against the odds, Subaru has finally forged a future where everyone can be happy. I’m glad they included the Knight scene and Emilia’s kiss=babies scene. Even as someone who dislikes Emilia I found that to be hilarious when reading.

One good thing about everything is I’m sure the wait between Seasons 2 and 3 will not be nearly as long as we had to wait for this.

No Omega post credits scene tho :/ that’s a bit saddening. I don’t think it’s nearly as deep as some people making it out to be, but I get why you’d be upset.

This season was just incredible, it's really the best anime I've seen in a while, S2 part 2 is probably the best part of Re:Zero for me thanks to the latest episodes, so now I really can't wait for the next announcement, anime of the season by very far for me.

Definitely a season with a lot to talk about plot wise, but sadly didn't enjoy it much overall and felt bored quite a bit at times despite a lot of plot movement happening. Preferred part one to this. At least the finale was a good way to close the arc and season 2 as a whole. Probably would rate Part 2 a 4/10 and season 2 overall a 4.5 or 5/10 overall.

This was an epic season 2 with most of the thing we wanted to see. I'm glad we finally got the must needed Emillia development. She didn't have that much screentime at all in s1 and was so useless but s2 was all about her characterisation, backstory etc. Now I've started to like her. Thou she's still a bit awkard but it's fine this way. People can't just change overnight, she'll slowly become a good adult.

Pretty chill but a fulfilling finale to end what has been an eventful 4th Arc. Novel readers warned us that there'll be a lot of content but White Fox's handling with the extended episodes and lack of Op & ED deserves a lot of love and gratitude, I believe there was minimal cutting and I'm very grateful to the team for this.

Final battle with the rabbits over and, for once, Subaru and co. has managed to come out on top. I'm guessing that we haven't seen the end of the "monster" just yet but hopefully they won't be coming back soon or ever, for that matter lol. Emilia's magic was seriously incredible and Betty's magic was always going to deliver. Subaru and Emilia communicating from distance was a little hilarious but not a big issue, lol.

Betty wishing for a bit of praise was cho-kawaii ~ xD

All givin' Roswaal a good whack. Lad deserved it but at least he got a lap pillow to lighten the impact. Ram's quickfire commenting is still around and that's great!

Emilia & Subaru's misunderstanding. Good lord, Puck. Subaru's confusion and daze was on-point. Emilia sure got red though, gochuso-sama deshita.

Last time trying to be a knight didn't go well for Subaru but thank lord, this time around was fine. A tad bit disappointed we didn't get to see the other well-known Knights and Candidates attend the honorable event but well. Convo at night though, I wonder what that is.

Op & a montage of shots at the party to bid us farewell, expected something a little more to be frankly honest but I can totally live with this nonetheless.

All in all, it's been a fantastic season from the start. So many highs and the conclusion lived up for most of what it set up imo so it's a solid 9/10 from me. Would've liked to hear the ED once again but well, a Season 3 is much higher on my priority list right now. Tokyo MX broadcast should be ending in about 15 mins at the time of this writing so hopefully there'll be info on that. Or AnimeJapan if they're looking to hype us up for that. Please!

So I was right about the space magic to seal off the great rabbit but how they corralled them was exceedingly inane. They also did one of my pet peeves, yelling through a storm from a considerable distance and being able to hear perfectly.

EPISODE 50 (what a great stopping number): The Great Rabbit vs. Subaru, Round 2, feat. Beatrice.

Unlike the last time, everyone is on Subaru's side, even Beatrice and Emilia with the 3-man tag team of defiling the Great Rabbits, monster by monster for a final isolation strike. With that, Sanctuary is FINALLY liberated, but not without the reconciliation of the former family: Beatrice, Roswaal and (Mother) Echidna (whuich NGL, she looks like Sleeping Beauty Witch}.

Heh, even Subaru and Emilia have their own closure, a give-and-take relationsip, OK-IE. Emilia-tan being beet-red through Subaru's confession is lovely...but a baby in her belly from a kiss? WOAH...that's the common misunderstanding made by Puck of all beings, LOLS.

The convene meeting of everyone (except Ram) settling scores at Roswaal for all the trouble he's caused, yeah clown...you definitely earned those punches. The trust values of Roswaal are THAT low, and the revelation of the crest on Roswaal's body for an oath/promise, a straight bet lost and a curse earned against Subaru and everyone else.

Onward with the Royal Selection, and let bygones be bygones. Emilia and Subaru being at their rightful places since the end of Season 1, they've finally achieved their objectives and everything got resolved.

WHAT A SEASON. ABSOLUTELY FLOORED the competition. 100/10.

To those talking about a 'missing scene', I bet my left arm they're going to repeat a Director's Cut thing with that scene in the end that ties to S3, like they did with S1.

Which is kinda scummy if we have to wait another 3 years for it.

Its so amusing seeing Beatrice try to adapt to the new bond thats between Her and Subaru now. Still the teamwork between Subaru, Beatrice and Emilia really proved to be effective. Beatrice's reaction to that hug after was adorable. So the Roswaal back then is also the one in the present. Soul translation certainly can be convenient sometimes. The talk about the baby though sure was amusing. Puck really pulled a fast one there lol. The punishment for Roswaal dealt out by Subaru's team was pretty satisfying and im glad that Ram managed to recover from her injuries as well. That oath that Roswaal had on him sure was a serious matter but at least it ensures that he can't make any more moves. After overcoming so many challenges and fighting for Emilia for so long its nice that Subaru finally gets knighted. The outfits that Emilia and Subaru wore though during it really was nice. After overcoming such a large challenge the party was a nice reward for them all. A beautiful episode to such an excellent season with the final still photos of the cast being a nice touch as well. Season 3 please.

Well, I did ask for this episode to not just be one giant battle with the rabbits, so I have nobody to blame but myself when the battle lasted as short as it did. Barely 5 minutes. After all the build up, it just seemed a little too quick. There wasn't even a struggle. It was just a beat down with power boosts that the show just wants you to accept without questioning it. Not that it didn't make sense or anything, but it definitely seemed a bit too convenient.

So Ram is still alive. Not sure what to make of that really. I mean, I am glad she didn't die, but after that emotional payoff last episode, it seems a little strange that she would still be alive. Speaking of Ram...Rem was completely forgotten about!!! Haha! Since this entire season started with her being the biggest plot point of the arc, it seems weird that they didn't even bother making any sort of headway into the Rem matter this season. It's like Subaru and the show also forgot about her.

The scene with Emilia talking about babies was genuinely funny and was completely believable considering her upbringing. That entire exchange between Emilia and Subaru was hilarious.

The last scene was really stretched out, but it hit the emotional moments that it strived for. Emilia and Subaru both looked really happy. Too happy. I hope that doesn't mean something bad will happen to them next season.

I would have preferred more time spent this episode focusing on the fight with the rabbits but that is part of my major issue with both cours of season 2, which was the pacing. As an anime watcher only, the pacing felt really slow. Too slow. While light novel readers might disagree, I just call it as I feel it. I still liked many parts of this season, but I don't think I will be re-watching this arc anytime soon. I will however be re-watching the first season again many times.

Don't know about missing parts don't really care tbh. That knight scene really hit hard when put in comparison to the royal disgrace Subaru pulled in season 1. Fantasies stories in terms of character development Re Zero definitly have one of the best MC. Getting spoiled by such a great season wouldn't really mind another 5 years for season 3 to be animated.

An amazing finale. I don't even know what to say.

It was nice seeing smiling Betty and her being all nice to Subaru. She even called him by his name.
Taking down the Great Rabbit was an incredible feat.

Emilia thinking that kissing makes a baby was funny. Thank you Puck. XD

Roswaal got beaten up. He actually deserved it tbh.

After this season, Re:Zero became one of my favourite series. I wasn't a fan of the first season and found it to be a fine show, but the season, especially part 2, changed my opinion on this series. I'm conflicted to give this a 10 though I believe it deserves to have such a score. So, it is a 10/10 for me. I'm going to pick up the light novel at some point. Hoping for the third season soon.

I couldn't give this episode a 5/5, there just was so many production issues and I felt the dialogue was off for the first half. I still liked the episode so I gave it a 4.

Rem's matter is a strange one.

In the novels her being erased is the ending of the third arc while the fourth arc is only about the Sanctuary. It does seem strange that nothing would be done for her since the season started with that, but it's more of a leftover from season 1. The main reason Subaru didn't try to save her is that he has absolutely no clue how to bring her back or where the Archbishop of Gluttony is. Finally, when you think about it, the events of season 2 have happened in less than a week. It's quite funny since it was 25 episodes long, but it makes sense that Subaru wouldn't have been able to save Rem in that short time.

Re:Zero's next arcs are more fast paced and dig deep into the 'bigger' problems. If they get adapted into anime, you'll see they are more similar to the first season's second half, with more action, more open settings and with multiple characters, especially compared to season 2 with its numerous heavy dialogues and very closed setting.

Loved it, question though:

why was that scene from season 2 teaser/trailer (the one where everyone is dead and subaru is walking up to this white haired kid in a tea party hill scenario?) not included in season 2 itself? feels like bait? thinking they should have teased things that actually were taking place in season 2 like every other show does, or maybe it's their way of hinting at a season 3/4 even before season 2 production began? weird

edit: wait, I just realized the teaser was with echidna , thought it was a different unknown character nvm
