| I looked up this anime in various sites, and they all claim that the original run of OVAs lasted 3 episodes, not counting New Dream Hunter Rem. However, MAL lists it as having 4 episodes instead. Is it because the first episode has two different versions? Is it counted as a different episode within the same entry? I know the history behind its production, but shouldn't the hentai version be counted separately? |

| I'll make it clearer for people wondering in the future: there is another version of Episode 1 where Rem get's tentacled hentai style and then shoots a laser beam from her vagina (just avoid watching this version of the episode because it's just embarrassing). There are only 3 episodes. |
| So, after reading through the More Info section, I found out that the reason MAL lists this as 4 episodes is not because of the hentai version: 01. Dream Hunter Rem Volume I. Part-1. Beautiful Dream Appears (21 min, 15.12.1985) - censored version 02. Dream Hunter Rem Volume I. Part-2. Violent Dream! Dr. Death Resurrected (25 min, 15.12.1985) 03. Dream Hunter Rem Volume II (58 min, 05.09.1986) 04. Dream Hunter Rem Volume III (56 min, 05.02.1987) On DVD, episodes 1 and 2 were united, which is why AniDB only denotes 3 eps for this anime. It's counting both halves of episode 1 separately, which also makes sense when you consider that they list the runtime as 40 min per episode, on average (it would be 53 min if you count it as being 3 episodes). It's still confusing if you don't look this up, but now I understand. |
