Wow this is the first time that Goku actually killed his enemy (or at least I hope he's dead?) But he actually did gave it a final blow to get rid of Baby! Well that sure is the first time and well now that his super saiyan 4 has worn off he has gone back to his younger self and well the planet has only two more weeks until it is destroyed if the black star dragon balls are not returned before that!

So lets see what will happen next!

Way to go Goku, the earth is safe... for now. Now they need to collect the black star dragon balls (again) within 2 weeks ._.

Also I find it a bit odd not seeing Vegeta flip out on Goku for achieving a whole new level once again. He flipped on him for SSJ3, but I guess only because of their fight? Meh. I still would think he would speak his mind.

As a few other people have mentioned Vegeta being so calm about SSJ4 is a little strange almost out of character, but I guess he's sort of mellowed out since the Buu saga.

Cell self destructed in an attempt to destroy Earth. Goku just teleported him to another planet. Then Gohan was the one who finished Cell. So yeah, this was the first time Goku killed anyone.

I think he was calm because he was having his consciousness when Baby took over him. Like how Dende remembered about giving the DragonBalls to Baby. So there was no need for Vegeta to be surprised.

Helped exactly how?? By motivating him to kill Cell? I don't think that counts.

By using Father-Son Kamehameha. He didn't just motivate him, Goku's spirit channelled his power to Gohan and hence took just as much part in Cell's killing as Gohan did

The description for the Father-Son KameHameHa is:
First, Gohan fires a Super Kamehameha at the opponent, who struggles against the attack. Then, the spirit of his father Goku appears behind him in a Kamehameha stance and shouts to him "Now!!" Finally, Gohan pulls his hand back and throws it forward as he charges more power into the attack, overpowering the opponent and inflicting a massive amount of damage.
It doesn't say anywhere that Goku channels his Ki to Gohan or in the KameHameHa Wave. In the anime as well, we only see Goku appear behind Gohan and telling him to fire.

It does, read further (under overview)

... and then channelling his power to Gohan, essentially being one of the killers. What we see in the anime is just that - Goku being in the Kamehameha stance alone with Gohan

This is the first time that Goku finish off his enemy with a kamehameha. This is the end of Baby, everyone is back but things are looking bad for the earth itself.

Well damn that was a long fight, a long arc as well, but I guess you could say it was more its own saga, but that’s still just another word for arc lol. But yeah man, I’ve finally reached the end of the Baby arc, if you consider the start of the Baby arc being when they first find him in Myu’s lab then this has been going on for a while, I think me and my buddy have been watching it since early December due to the pace we’re going at lol. But all that aside, what did I think of the Baby arc on this rewatch? Well I think it’s safe to say it’s the best one so far, and I think it is a lot of people’s favorite and it’s pretty clear why, it’s definitely the most intense arc and it’s a bit of a return to the way Z did things with its villains, up to this arc it was more like Dragon Ball but Z is more beloved so it makes sense why more people would be into this part of the show, and I loved it myself lol.

And really I have been loving the show overall on this rewatch, but I think it’s hard to say any of the arcs before Baby can beat it despite the fact that I am a big fan of the Lord Luud and Planet M2 arcs, there was just so much wild stuff in this arc. From the moment they first found Baby, to Baby’s gradual invasion of Earth, to Uub becoming Majuub, to Goku’s ape rampage and finally, Goku becoming the extremely cool Super Saiyan 4 and taking of Baby, and the fight itself was a rollercoaster without even having all that stuff before it, so needless to say this arc had it all lol. But that doesn’t mean it was perfect, I personally wasn’t a fan of Kabito Kai’s whole “sacred water” thing, felt like a quick fix to something that should have been better thought out, and I also found the pulling out of Goku’s tail to be a bit hard to watch but the idea is cool. However, those are just minor problems to what was overall a very fun and intense arc.

And after all was said and done, I gotta say Baby was a great villain, he not only had great designs for himself and each form of Baby Vegeta, but he was also a villain you really wanted to see get beat so that made his defeat all the more satisfying when Goku actually killed him, which is apparently a first based on this thread, Baby caused a lot of pain after all so it makes sense. You also had the backstory on what the Saiyans did to the Tuffles to add more depth to the conflict, this wasn’t just a random villain destroying Earth, this was a long awaited revenge, only thing was that he took things too far beyond just defeating the Saiyans so he had to be stopped.

And before this review gets too long (it already is lol) I guess I’ll stop here although there’s more I want to mention, that’s the one problem with waiting till the end of each arc to write a post lol, but once again this arc was a lot of fun, it’s definitely on top with Planet M2 being 2nd and Lord Luud being 3rd for me, and I don’t remember what happens exactly with the planet having 2 weeks to live but I will say I’m really looking forward to the next arc because I know what it is and I remember it being my favorite for just how cool it is.

The fight between SSJ4 Goku and Baby was a huge letdown. All they did was throw energy blasts at each other, without any real close combat. For an anime that’s supposed to be about martial arts, that’s a big flaw. In the end, only the character designs held up for me.
