I imagine people arent allowed to have fun and higher education in a town in driving distance from the village, because meeting with friends would be so incredible hard....

Incredible.

Who said this? That's a really bad cherrypicking man. I have never said that she is not allowed to do that, but there is no point in abandoning everything out of the blue after establishing such a strong bond with people whom that she can literally defeat fate

So how do you know she went off right after she escaped the first 100 years?

She would need at least half a year unless she transferred mid year and I doubt a rich Christian school would accept that.

And if she did she is allowed to do that whenever she wants. Shion has absolutely no issue going back and forth. Nobody should fault her for this.

Your points don't add up. There was already foreshadowing from the previous episode that Rika was already in an unstable mental state. These loops, along with SPECIFICALLY LOSING HANYUU, are what made a mindbreak possible. Rika says so herself, that she never would have been able to stay sane for 100 years if she didn't have Hanyuu. This is 100% consistent with Rika's own character. Rika was able to survive 100 years of loops because of the fact she had Hanyuu. She no longer has Hanyuu, and after 6 of the worst possible fragments Rika has probably experienced with absolutely no progress made in any of them, her mental state would be crushed by that. You say that it's impossible, but you are just forgetting and ignoring important character details for Rika and are passing off your mistakes as the writer's mistake.

So Rika is fine for 100 years but the moment she is alone she reverts back to child. Please...

And why are those the 6 worst? What happened to the ones where Keichi doesnt come to the village?

And no it isnt 100% consistent with Rika's own character since we have never seen Rika act like this the moment she is left alone.

I wont bother with more replies since it is obvious you would trust R07 or whoever is behind this with your life.

lol I'm sorry that you don't pay attention and don't know Rika's character.

The misery porn in this show is too much, I get it if you the author want it in, but why on earth was half of the episode just Satoko torturing Rika in a gruesome way? Like I get it already just move on for fuck sake

We are 16 episodes in and all we got was a rehash from previous seasons and Rika torture porn

Also the switch from Torture and gross gore to girls in swimsuit was so bizarre

It's pretty funny that people are randomly complaining that the show wants to give the message of never leaving your village when Rika herself fought to live with her friends in the original series, but ok.
Rika after achieving the miracle thanks to the support of her friends who fought alongside her:
"Hasta la vistaaaaaaaa"

The episode focused on why RIKA HATES HINAMIZAWA.
Unfortunately, we have reached the point where you have to complain about everything

Not being able to live without your friends isn't friendship, it's co-dependency. The others would probably leave at some point too, like for college or simply work.

Imagine thinking a 16 years old doesn't have a right to explore the world and honestly, do what the fuck she wants. Honestly if I were Rika after this Gou I'd be so sick of Hinamizawa I'd leave for America and change my name or something.

These tears, man, end her suffering alr...

Holy crap, Sotoko just pulled out Rika's whole guts, while she is awake too. This is quite a level we got there. Ouchy.

Rika met those 2 in the dark, in a forest, I have a really really bad feelings about this, looks like this will be the real last one. Interesting to think how it will play out and if Rika's sufferings will finally ended after.

You clearly don't understand what i said. Rika clearly said she HATED hinamizawa for some reason after being locked up for 100 years and she wanted to escape for that. In the second half of the episode she wondered why she hated Hinamizawa and eventually realized she loves the village, and that's what she tells Satoko. This is what happened no more and no less

Wow you made a sum of the second part of the episode. That must mean it makes sense.

No it doesnt.

The village's legends, dam war, customs and mentality are reasons why she had to suffer for so long. Even her own bloodline is something she should hate, even tho it was never sated that she did but it would make sense.

Takano didnt randomly pick the village and the Queen Carrier. She picked this village because of everything that is wrong with it.

She doesnt love the village. She loves a few individuals that happen to live there.

That's bullshit
you don't start randomly loving a village that trapped and tortured you for 100 years because your best deiced to split your body in half and play with your guts. Rika literally have every reason to hate the fucking village and it people curse and her friends have nothing to do with it.

Like for fuck sake she was holding the upper part of her body while ripping out her guts one after another and you sitting here telling me its normal

You were trying to cross the border, right?

This episode kinda leaves some doubts about Satoko. But I can't really tell if she was doing this in every arc. I mean, Satoko is a constant L3, after all. Also, by the time the main story ends, HS doesn't actually have a cure yet I think. I don't remember what happens to Irie Institute, so Satoko would end up badly if she wasn't cured.

Satoko's delusion in this episode was kinda convenient to brainwash Rika. Way too convenient. That kinda makes me doubt about where she gathered so much information, even for a delusion. But even Rika acknowledged she's heard crazy things from delusional people, but this is the one that actually hurt. Maybe she's really looping, maybe it was random. Also, in the next episode we'll finally get to know what Takano is up to. If she's bailing or something else.

I felt like puking watching it. And the whole brainwashing thing Satoko did to Rika didn't help that feeling. Disgusting. Poor girl stuck in hell for over 100 years isn't enough to justify WANTING TO GO TO SCHOOL IN ANOTHER CITY XD yeah that's unforgivable sin!

Like everyone mentioned, Rika talking and thinking after being literally torn in half is absolutely ridiculous and only server for sake of more gore and misery porn

Even if you wanted to have "guts" scene that badly, you didn't need to drag it out that much

Also, Rika accepting Satoko proposal is either brainwashing or playing along, although since she was talking to herself, looks like that little kid managed to somehow manage to brainwash the 100 years old witch who was killed like thousands of times in many different ways

I mean, I understand the whole "Rika is so broken" thing but come on, she's been doing this shit and laughing it off for a century, she just breaks now? Also at no point, Rika seems to stop and think why Satoko is already talking about her leaving Hinamizawa when she's still stuck in the damn loop, and everytime I ask I get the same shitty excuse of Rika being afraid

The thing that creeped me out more wasn't the gory intestines, it was how rika was convinced that she was in the wrong, when she clearly isn't. Her mind is so fucked up that she wants to cling on to something and Satoko (or the person that is controlling the strings) finally tricked Rika to give up.

Lambdadelta is obviously gaslighting her using Satoko. I mean, Satoko pretty much is representing the Wich by saying “stay with me for ever”, or the like. Rika wanting to be in Hinamisawa for eternity is a win for the Witch. Could be wrong though, I’ve watched until ep 4 of Umineko, so i may be missing info.

She breaks now because she is now alone, in the past Hanyuu was always with her and that gave her the strength to fight. This was her last opportunity to live, because the ultimatum was 5 more times. So it was either giving up and dying, or believing in the crap Satoko said.

I still think Satoko is a Lambda piece, but not a self aware one. I don't think the gaslight is a problem, just because Rika is in this for 100 years. It is her best friend who mention something which only Rika knows (hate and leaving Hinamizawa) and without hope (without Hannyu, her last chance). These last loops are specially traumatic, she loses her will to live (she plans to suicide), and grabs the first thing to appear (Satoko gaslight).

That was the most cringe inducing anime gore I've seen in a long time. Really made me squeamish. They went all out there.

Rika learns that she needs to love Hinamizawa again. If not then she gets horrifically disemboweled. No Rika you should not love Hinamizawa; Hinamizawa is a toxic, possessive prick.

Here's hoping they continue to go all out with the gore, and hopefully that "love Hinamizawa" thing turns out to be a load of shit and something else is causing the curse because that's a really dumb reason.
Shoot first, think never.

Well, i think she'll talk to Takano now cuz she determined that she has nothing to do with what's happening to her this time, she'll probably ask her to help if anything happens or ask them why the fuck do they run with a van/car later.
She tried to find them in Tataridamashi too but Ooishi came, i don't have a theory about what happened between her and Takano in Wata and Oni but maybe she talked to her, we were focusing on K1.

yeah i thought they were doing that because newcomers friendly and blah blah (R07 still calls it WTC 1.5) but now it's slowly spoiling everything about the og story while not being as good (i still don't like the old anime but i would recommend it for anyone who wants to get into WTC without reading the VN/mangas).
It just made the first half pointless because it became not so newcomer-friendly.

Well that was a pretty bad way of doing that.

They could have just started with ep14's content with Rika claiming that she has been doing that for 100 years....

Oh wait they did back in episode 2. They could have introduced everyone and establish their character without focusing on them; keep Rika as the MC.

There was no need to waste time in 13 episodes that are a bad copy paste of the original anime.

Does anyone else think that the "I love Hinamizawa" was potentially a 1984 reference? I definitely got that vibe, but I could also see things going the other way and Rika really did need to learn to love Hinamizawa in order to have the strength to keep fighting. You can't fight forever for something you hate.

Also, having your intestines pulled out would be a slow death, unless your aorta was severed. If Satoko missed the aorta with the hoe strikes, then that scene is reasonable (though why were Rika's liver...and pancreas...and spleen missing?) Gut wounds are famous for causing slow deaths because they aren't likely to cause you to bleed out, but they get infected easily and kill you that way, so even though this is a bit extreme to call a gut wound, Rika surviving for 10 minutes or so is not that weird, especially since she is on painkillers to keep her from passing out due to pain.
Every day you can read a book or watch some anime is a good day!

Can't believe people are still waiting for Umineko characters like Featherine to appear when we are at 16 episodes without a SINGLE hint about Umineko/witches/whatever lol.
Not that I wouldn't like it, but at this point, this sequel is so bad that I don't want them to shit on Umineko characters. They are already butchering Higurashi people enough.

13 episodes of nothingness, 2 episodes of useless torture porn who turns out to be more hilarious than anything (every scene is just SO over the top and this episode was the worst by FAR, I can't believe Rika managed to survive this long lol ?), Rika getting brainwashed by goddamn SATOKO, ???

I'm not dropping this after 16 episodes, we're reaching the end soon, but I feel like it's getting worse every week when I think it's not even possible, it's just insane.

Honestly i'm starting to hate Gou more and more, just who asked for this?
The fucking gacha game

I know that the CDs and BDs come with serial codes, but the storylines are completely different, right? The game also has new, original characters added in. Why would they make Gou what it is in order to cross-promote the app...?

Multi media project, trying to get as many people as they can.

The app also feels like a huge miscalculation/misfire to me. Higurashi does not lend itself to a gacha game app with battle elements.
