| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Another Precure kicking flaming ball? Oh well... I really want to have Lala in school, even more of her goofy reactions would be most welcome. And I really liked moment when some girl noticed her. Now fact that no one noticed is odd but lets call it Anime Logic. As for Elena... I was hoping for her to fit overall weirdness of Hikari and Lala but someone has to be more grounded in reality it seems. I liked detail of her being scared to do anything. And while transformation was ok, I really liked her song, very nice voice. And thing I've noticed - this season really feels like Aikatsu, in way it looks and mood. And I really like it. Would even more if Elena did Kitaoji Theatre. |

| great episode overall, visual quality is there again. but Elena's popularity and athletic seem abnormal,at least not fully explained yet, she should be average at least, i mean she doesnt belong in any sports club to be that kind of skilled and representative to the school, she spend after school time taking care of the shop and her siblings. Madoka is ok, after all she is the school council's president, her profile explains she is also a pianist and practices archery(seen in the intro). good transformation, didnt beat Hikaru, at least for me. im liking way too much that their casual clothes become the shining clothing when they transfomr, very unique. waiting for Madoka's tranformation. elior1 said: actully madoka suspected lala right away by her serious expression well, Madoka simply noticed Lala wasnt from the school. | A pretty standard introduction episode. I really like the new Precure, even if we don't know much about her yet. But she looks great and seems to be really badass! Plus she has a freaking fusion bomb as her attack. Though I'd say Cure Milky is still my favorite so far. I hope they explore some alien cultures perhaps in future episodes, or introduce creative new aliens as enemies. Seeing as it is a space-themed show, that would be great! I only recently started watching a lot of Heartcatch, which is supposedly the "best" Precure show. So I can definitely see where Star Twinkle is a bit lacking, in comparison. But it's a very fun show regardless, and who knows what they might do with it next! |
| Cure Soleil is here! Very nice introduction to her character, she's actually like quite of a mix of Akane and Nao from Smile Precure due to her family situation and her own powers. Looks like Hikaru's school has two big fanboy sides with Elena and Madoka, I'm curious to see if there will actually be some rivality between them, or at least between the fans of each, Elena definitely showed why people love her this episode, it's hard to not smile when being around her! Another fantastic transformation scene (love the fire effects!) and the action was nice as well, the strategy with the smoke bomb from the enemies was being hella effective, if Elena hadn't gone to check if Lala and Hikaru were fine, Fuwa would have definitely been kidnapped there. Oh, I also really want to see more of the yellow haired girl that wtf'd at Fuwa and Lala during class xD |

| Really nice ep, the fact that she's one of those that takes care of the family really reminds me of Nao and Rin. She even uses a ball finisher like those two! :D |

| this series itself is clearly inspired by Smile, and thats a good thing! the mascots: Candy - comes out from a drawing in a fairytale book Fuwa - comes out of a drawing by Hikaru the opening scene: Reika practices archery Madoka practices archery both also appear to share a similar personality. and as people said, Elena is gifted in sports like Akane and is a "big sister" type like Nao. her attack as a precure also feel like a mix of cure Sunny and cure March. technically not a smiliarity, but cure Happy's family name is hoshizora, which literally means "night sky". there is also a similarity in Candy eating a strawberrry that comes from a deco in episode 3, i believe? and Fuwa eating a straberry shortcake drawn into existence. Akane was my fav in Smile, and so far, Elena might be a favorite this cure season. |

| Elena is very similar to Rin: Both have a flower shop. Lots of little brothers and sisters (Well, Also Nao). Has fire type attack; their classmates want her to stay in a sport club: volleyball, swim, etc. |

| I had high hopes for Elena because she's a yellow/orange Cure and Latinx and I think the episode delivered overall. I do agree with elior1 that her athletic ability is pretty random given that all she does is go to school and look after the shop/her siblings. Her transformation and singing were great but I kind of wish her dress was different? I mean, logically speaking if she's more of an athletic Cure, shouldn't it be shorter so she could move around? Especially if her main attack uses her legs. And on that point, I'm not super psyched at how similar her attack is to March's. |
| All the characters are growing on me. lol As for the similarities, to be honest, since I only kinda dabbled in the first Precure, I always kinda assumed that each part of the franchise, more or less, had the same formula with different variables... just a little bit like sentai in which each color is associated with certain things though every now and then they might change it up. Like, I always thought they'd change up or combine some things as they ran out of ideas, but for the most part, they'd be really similar. So the claims about similarity doesn't surprise me at all, but instead the people surprised by it surprise me a bit more. Maybe I had the wrong idea about the franchise? I did watch all these attacks and look into all these characters that everyone's talking about though. I kinda feel the complaints about the attack are a bit nitpicky. All the mentioned attacks were already similar to each other on their own-- which I expected. Soliel's attack didn't really stand out to me as a copy of any of them unless you're actually sitting there comparing every little movement and breaking the whole thing down. Overall, the attack really is its own thing.;; The only thing I'd definitely say is that she does sound similar to this Rin character, however it does sound like it's just their situations that are the same but not their personalities. Honestly though, as I look at the description for a lot of characters throughout the franchise, I'm literally reading the same thing over and over again. Notably "tough/tomboy but feminine/likes cute things" keeps popping up. But hey. Nonetheless, I do understand the idea that people want originality (though this is the last franchise I would have expected anyone to look for it in). My advice would be to stop comparing other Precures to each other and view them as separate entries. From what I'm seeing, this entry does not have a prequel, so it might be best to stop viewing every other Precure as such. Kinda like with all the different Gundam. Yessirmaam, there are a lot of similarities from entry to entry, but heck, sometimes the creators just want to borrow something from a past series and try to make it better. That's fine. Or MAYBE they're just lazy and want your money. Pick one and choose to stay or go I guess. But with staying, just know that with these types of franchises, similarities are bound to happen and it's maybe best to just roll with it. |

| awesome transformation nd design for solei, though copying sunny's attack seems rather lazy. Hope ST won't repeat the mistake smile made (collect the decors, collect even more decors, collect them all over again) |

| Elena is very popular and athletic. Madoka, the student council president, got intruduced. Also, three more villains made their debuts as well. Cure Star, Cure Milky, Fuwa, and Puruns were in big trouble with Tenjo and the Nottorei, but fortunately Elena was able to transform into Cure Soleil and helped them to beat the evil guys. I love Cure Soleil's transformation and her yellow and orange colors. |
