just finished scryed and one yhing i have to say is that ......................................................THIS IS A MASTERPIECE THE ENDING WAS SO FREAKIN COOL.......... and every single character was col and had thier own charisma i was realy moved by Cougar his last moment was so moving :D^^
and i love the relathion between kazuma and ryuhou its so simple and at the same time so complex xD 10* out of 10* hope u people keep descussing it xD

I personally don't understand why everyone thinks this was so cool. I found the ending to be horrible, I was expecting something conclusive concerning the mainland and what I found was a completely pointless battle between two people that could have been using their powers for much more useful things. Overall the series was mildly entertaining but you would truly have to be a simpleton to think this is a super awesome series as the only things it has going for it is semi-cool characters that are really strong. I prefer more depth and intelligence to my characters rather than a philosophy of "well I don't know how to do anything else so I'll just fight everything I see and I'm sure it'll work out alright."

The entire series was about Kazuma and Ryuho, their characters and their polarity. There was nothing left open about the mainland conflict either. The Lost Ground gained independence and Kazuma/Ryuho kick their asses to this day, the end. Seriously, there's nothing to interpret there.

then again you have Code Geass as a 10, and every character in that show had the intelligence and consistency of Zapp Brannigan or was some sort of shallow gimmick persona. PROTIP: just because you have "morally ambiguous" characters in a series doesn't make it intelligent or deep.

i mean dear god you have Trinty Blood as a 10 too. that show being a worthless pile of shit isn't even up for debate. what is wrong with you

It's hilarious that you couldn't wrap your head around a simple story like Scryed and then praise terribly written garbage like Code Geass. Most of that story probably flew over your head, and so you think it's "deep". And then there's Trinity Blood with barely any semblance of a story to begin with(not to mention what little it had was petty plagiarism), and no ending to boot.

I'd like to know exactly why you don't like it. It's one of my favorites so I'm genuinely interested on that point.

And I don't know what you mean by dub lover, over 80 percent of my anime have been subbed and almost all the vast majority of my dubbed anime come from when I was a kid and watched anime on TV, meaning I didn't even know about the dubbed/subbed thing.

just finished scryed and I have to say
this was the perfect time to watch it
almost all the animes this season are plain moe whatever stuff so scryed was a perfect change of pace
and now I got a new favorite character
Couger
he's fast (in everything). powerful, funny and died(I guess) a noble death.
all in all it was a good ride
now I need something like this to watch
anyone got any suggestion ?

Try Mobile Fighter G Gundam. It has the same director as Scryed, and it kind of has the same feel. (it is kind of old though)
EDIT: Nevermind.....I see you've already seen it.

Or you could always try reading the Scryed manga. It has a different story from the anime so it won't be like rewatching the series......you might even find some new reasons to like Cougar. (one warning though, the first few chapters REALLY suck so you might want to skip them)

I agree that the story is absolutely the worst part. It's simple and it's just lacking,

I did, however, think that the characters were fantastic, the action was fantastic, and I thought their powers were really cool.

And the story wasn't really all that bad. I mean, it's not like it's on the same level as Afro Samurai.

Finished s-CRY-ed/scryed/... and I have to say it was just above average, the two mains annoyed me to no end, God, those annoying screams and retarded outbursts.

At least cougar was one of the few that actually used his brain and knew what he was doing. If it wasn't for him this show would just crumble under it's own pile of shit that it is.

Btw, how in the world can the crazy white haired mofo suddenly get into that tunnel like thing in episode 21? From what I recal he can't fucking teleport. That pilar and his location where miles away yet he just got there.

Ryhou is the so called levelheaded and smart one but he did some retarded things himself. Lets not even start on Kazuma.

The way the two characters live gives a very good message: To hell with what society told you to do, live by your own rules, live by the way you want to live and you decide what is good and what is bad.

There are also some minors like:

Never give up
Be more strong. Rebel agains't your weak side
Don't depend of other people, solve your problems by yourself

Besides of his philosophy, the two characters are for me what a man has to be, a lot of battles are really good and the ost is spectacular

Why does everyone think Cougar died? pretty sure he probably just passed out or such. How would he survive for three entire months, especially after all the hard stuff just passed, then keel over? makes no sense.

I have to say that this show is one of the worst, most painful, animes I have ever watched from beginning to end.
The story was predictable and boring. The entire time I thought it was going to evolved into something super awesome, or have a great twist. Nope. Nothing but boringness.
Kazuma and Ryuuhou were both so predictable it was laughable.

"I hate you!"
"I hate you more"
"Get out of my way!"
"We have nothing in common!"
"Oh wait we do..."
"Lets be friends but act like tough guys!"
"Yeah, but I only agree because my pride tells me to do so!"
"At least we agree on something!"

In the end, Im glad its over so I can say I watched it, but I plan to NEVER watch it again.
Oh, but Straight Cougar was awesome. The only positive thing about the whole anime.
