You mean Durarara was inspired by ikebukuro west gate park novel ? Parts of durarara definitely were influenced by the novels. The novels were well received and popular, so it makes sense that people would want to replicate the same atmosphere. Comparing the two, they both take place in the same city, and have similar story elements, showing durarara took some inspiration from the well-written original. |

| I watched the J-drama for this which the manga is meant to be based on which in turn was based on the novels. Really surprised to find out about this one. Kinda hyped for it, maybe I'll start watching anime again. Okay just found out the anime is going to be based on the novels and not the manga. Still hyped for this regardless. |

| Looks fucking great. I love gang related stuff. We don't see enough of it. I think the closest shows I've seen is Project K and Durarara, both of which aren't too realistic. |
