| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Alabaster and Ami have such excellent designs!!! Alabasters design jumps out at us, it is extreme and in our face. He chooses to wear his ugliness in its essence just as he can't help but do with his face. It is unique and despite the appearance, moments like when he reminisces on the time he thought the sky was beautiful come off as sorrowful.. Beautiful in its own right. And, in Ami's case, it's her lack thereof of a design that makes her so charming most of the time. As her brother once described, it's like bright jewels floating in the air, and eyes can express so much. Those bright jewels crying in sorrow come off strong! Then there's the times we see her covered in paint like here, painted in stripes of color, sometimes seen entirely black with the one element that defines her staying consistent, those bright jewels. The fact that she is adorable when wearing make up and we saw her grow from a child all the way until now all helps leave a strong impression. That scene where she called her brother and we saw how far he's come as well was effective. I also enjoyed Alabaster saving Ami.. He's not perfect, but I feel as though he shares the sense of compassion with his team because he can relate with them. Beyond the mad scientist connection, he can relate to being unfairly treated and being a monster. |
