I found a video that goes into detail on the character of Ougon Bat "Golden Bat" and his influence not just on manga and anime but Tokusatsu heroes as well.

You just happened to post this the very day after I watched the Korean bootleg "Black Star and Golden Bat."

I'd like to watch the real thing someday.

I'm surprised Ougan Bat has been so poorly treated seeing how great Japan usually takes great care of their historical works, next to nothing of the franchise should be lost media and it seems like it remembered elsewhere than in Japan.

I've seen video of people reacting to that movie and it was.... Something. Though at least I know why Korean Golden Batman laughed a lot in that movie.

It is a sensitive topic due to Japan's imperialist past. Eg Tank Tankuro was also influential being one of the first robot superheroes but was shoved aside after the war.

I never heard of Tank Tankuro before, sounds intriguing.

It's a shame too, Ougan Bat looks decent for such an early anime.
