At the end of Episode 3 you can see new characters talking about marriage. It looks eerily similar to a certain moment from the previous season (Eugeo + red haired girl), which was followed by a truly disgusting episode.

I think this Miller guy is going to attack and maybe even rape that Dark Knight woman. He really does give out some "rapey villain" vibes... Sinon's dream was creepy as fuck too.

No "rape" in WoU. In the war, people don't waste time for sex or anything like "rape".

I read the original web novel that Kawahara wrote way back in the day so I can't be sure since some things may have changed in the light novel, but the new Dark Knight just gets strangled to death. Which in my opinion is still creepy but she doesn't get raped. That said,

No you imbecile, there's no sexual assault in SAO since the last one on Alicization. That was the last one which was written in 2006. Since then, nothing ever happened in any series by Kawahara.

Dumbass, no one got raped. Rape and sexual assault are completely different things.

Also, only Asuna between those got anything. Sinon has only it on anime with a original scene and Leafa never had anything like that.

No, it doesn't. It looks like a murder scene, which is what it is. Try to do that in reality for you to see if this is a sexy or rape scene or a murder one.

Jesus... always the same stupid discussion...
It's fiction, it's supposed to let you feel a certain way. No harm to real people.
If you feel disgusted, great! If you feel aroused, well, weird but still, no harm done to anybody as long as you dont try that shit with real people.

How are the camera shots 'suggestive'?

Anyone who thinks it's like a rape scene is either retarded or they just see perversion in literally anything. Their problem, not the show's.

Which is something that a director do, as in a Light Novel unlike a manga, you can't exact adapt a scene since there's so few illustrations and as someone who read the original, there was no description to make it like that on the anime.

How are rape and fanservice ANYTHING "alike"? Rape is usually fan DISSERVICE.

Anyway, caio makes a good point; Reki didn't WRITE it like that so let's stop dragging the man's name through the mud, please.

i lol thats like saying BDSM is not intended to be sexual for example

he is the author and got the biggest power to make the final decisions of every scene he wants thats how powerful the source material authors are on japanese law

That is NOT how it works; otherwise so many great manga would not have such shit adaptations....or at least adaptations that the original authors HATE.

Go ahead and "lol" but many fans will tell you "rape makes me uncomfortable". Fanservice is not supposed to be uncomfortable. That's why they call it 'service'.

have you not watch Shirobako yet to learn about anime production?

or you can read this

The Gensakusha Almighty
Not every member of the Committee gets equal say in every matter, and most of them wouldn't want oversight over everything anyway. (A toy maker wouldn't care about who gets American publishing rights, for example.) One member, however, holds a huge amount of power, by Japanese law: the gensakusha, or original creator, usually a manga artist, gets final say over every major decision.

The intended audience is young Japanese males who don't see sexual content in literally every thing they watch.

Example:

American fan: OMG the character is NEKKID. THIS IS PORN. DEGRADING TO WOMEN. SEXUALIZING YOUNG GIRLS.

Japanese fan: What? She's only taking a bath. Bathing is important.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengeki_Bunko

Of COURSE SOME sexual content is intended, like how Kirito and Asuna had sex after they were both traumatized in chapter 15/episode 10.

But what I'm explaining is not every scene that a non-Japanese audience views as "sexual" is intended to be viewed that way. People have perverted minds and see things that are not supposed to be there and I think Lipi being strangled is one such example.

look at some of the famous assault scenes on female characters of this show and tell me if they are not that sexualize like i even provided a screenshot of a scene on Lipia alone

and your wikipedia link says this "aimed at a male audience" and not aimed at young male audience alone but im not talking about the source material here im talking about the anime adaptation

Not really. The only one that was was Sugou with Asuna...and its purpose was to devastate Kirito. I doubt anyone watching considered it to be "sexy". It was nasty and malicious.

If anything, the scene with the female villain seducing Eugeo in the last arc was much more sexualized. You could consider that female on male assault.

and your wikipedia link says this "aimed at a male audience" and not aimed at young male audience alone

SAO is definitely shounen, not seinen. You can just tell. My guess is ages 13 to 17, judging by the level of gore and nudity (it gets censored a lot).

but im not talking about the source material here im talking about the anime adaptation

*laughs*
Honey, it's the same shit.. That's how demographics work. The only exception to the rule is when it's an anime-original project.

Yes, it's for the guys who want to see Lipia's thighs, not her lady area getting pummeled by a man's junk without her consent.

See, that's how one defines "rape".

I mean this is Reki Kawahara we're talking about. He was like the top edgelord that got his rocks off to dark doujins and decided to insert his edginess in his writing at one point or another. It wouldn't surprise me if it was true. Then again, it sounds false as well. Hell in the LNs of this arc...well that's a spoiler so I'll just wait till that episode does premiere.

if its shonen then clearly PG-13 rating of MAL is accurate then so nudity or sexualize stuff is to be expected period

and lol you are already thinking of hentai obviously im talking about ecchi sexual fanservice level here and just consider it like a rape scene

but you are thinking too literally about rape here then fine lets call it sexual assault like this thread says then

EDIT:

also do you think people like me completely enjoy that scene?

why a scene about killing needs to have sexual fanservice in the first place?

'Sword Art Online' Creator Explains His Use of Sexual Assault as Plot Device

"This may be a bit late, but if you're wondering why SAO has so many of those scenes, a considerable number of light novels (although they weren't called light novels back then), epic sagas, and adventure stories I read back in middle school contained those plot elements. I would cite Ōgun Hakusha (Gold Spur) as a representative title. My writing was bound to that as if it were under a spell,” Kawahara wrote. (via ANN)

No, it's entirely possible to have a rape scene without going to hentai levels. Psycho-Pass did it, Monster did it, even Gravitation had a gang-rape scene. All the animators do is not show genitals or make it less intense.

"Because I was influenced by other works" is basically his answer then? I see. I can somewhat understand that. It sounds like a thing that happens subconciously. Well, I'm glad he doesn't do it under the excuse "I find it exciting" or "I can't think of anything else". xD

It's good he's moved past it though.

Now if only A-1 would stop screwing us over. GET A NEW DIRECTOR.
