| When the show is funny its very funny but there are too many moments in the show that are just plainly unfunny such as the Goku bit in episode 2 of the second season.On the other hand you have the pure win of segments such as when Sensei is at his family home and all the girls are trying to look at him. Its this mix or great humor and weak humor that makes me rate the show a 7 when i really wanted to give it a 8. Its just not consistent enough despite one of the most funniest and imaginative casts in a while. |
| I've personally found it to be one of the, if not the, cleverest anime I've had the opportunity to watch. The amount of wordplay and twists on cultural concepts make this and endlessly entertaining series. For me, at least. It always captivated me, so I can't say I felt there were any "weak" moments as you say. But that's subjective, so to each his own. |
| Yes the writers did a great job and I'm never bored when i watch it but on the other hand this is a comedy show. I find that I'm laughing at one segment while others bits while interesting just aren't that funny. Its still a good show and never gets boring but it doesn't get a 8 for the reason that its a mixed bag. Comedy here and then long dialogs after. Maybe you need to be Japanese to understand all the gags so some of it my be lost on me. Reading the info at the top of the screen that the helpful subbers add isn't the same as understanding the joke yourself. |

| Well i finished the second season. The last half of the second season was great and enough to push this up to a 8. I actually went back and rated the first season a 8 as well up from 7 as i guess i was hung up that it didn't make me laugh every 5 seconds but the show has many other merits such as one of the best casts in the history of anime. Your hardly ever bored while watching this show and while some episodes do not make me laugh as much as others its still very interesting. Best episodes - The murder mystery mansion. |
