| Wow! That was one rollercoaster ride, especially the last quarter of the series. And seriously, did the director have to kill German, he was one of the very few likeable characters as a whole. Gonna be honest, I really hoped/thought till the last moment that he was somehow going to come out of this alive. Looking back though, it kinda seems stupid as they didn't hold back in Lara's case either, and the series is in general tilted towards a darker tone of fantasy. But I still wouldn't call it dark fantasy. Bleak definitely, but seeing how Leon's mother helped him in the end and the ideals of the Makai Knights, it's a hodgepodge of cynicism and optimism. In the end, I'd say this felt way too much like Reaper's Gale. A satisfying enough experience if you watch it till the end, but not something you would be keen to revisit. P.S. I also kind of disliked some of the episodes in the first half, so taking that into account I give it a solid 8 |

| I'm giving this a 7/10. It was a pretty solid anime that told the story it wanted to tell without trying to hard to be trendy. The animation and fights were kind of lacking in my opinion, but it solid character development and never felt rushed. There times that I was bored, but I also enjoyed something in every episode and the soundtrack was pretty good. Looking forward to the second season. Hopefully, I don't procrastinate finishing it like I did with this season. |

| Alfonso was the coolest character. |
| Very solid series. There was a lot of meandering at the beginning of the show; but once the story really got going, it finished on a strong note. Leon had a nice character arc showing him coming into his own with a believable progression towards maturity. The other three main characters were also enjoyable in their own right (though Alfonso could be a bit boring since it felt like he could almost do no wrong - but he was a good foil for the immature Leon). The action sequences were also well choreographed and fun to watch. Overall, not a whole lot to complain about here. It had a weak start and could be a bit slow at times but it was definitely worth the watch. I'd put it somewhere in the 7 to 7.5/10 category. |

| Dat rebirth scene. Dat final form. LMAO Mendoza didn't even wait for Leon to transform. He just hit him. Dat slice. Dat all around the world transformation. Father-son Garo. Dat self stab. Dem flames. Nothing like a mothers love to beat an immortal bad guy. German! LMAO at German looking back and then whispering to Leon about Ximena. That girl is fine. lol at Alfonso falling. lol at Leon saying he can't go with Ema then Ema's reaction. lol at Zaruba. WTF! Ximena is pregnant? smh at German. The one thing that wasn't needed. I wonder if the other chicks he banged are pregnant as well. |

| That was a pretty awesome show but for some reason I wasn't really finding myself able to really immerse myself most times. Maybe its cause I felt like I'd seen parts of the show done before elsewhere. Anyway still a solid show especially the second half. I do wish we had seen German's death and Medoza could easily have killed Leon, his arrogance was reminiscent of the cliche, 'evil gloating' trope which was annoying. Also a lot of things never really got explained either like the watchtower. Spose its a 7/10 show. |

| That was a great show. Didn´t expect myself to get so emotionally invested as I got. The Lara and Leon tragedy was cruel but exicuted symbolically well. When he had power he used them for his selfish revenge, and when he needed them to protect his first love, he no longer had them. But that was needed to go full circle for him and get maximal development. Watching shows like this always remind me of why MAPPA is such an unique studio, who dares to take gutsy risks and more then often gets the job well done. |

| I adored this show throughout, it has pretty much everything I love genre wise and action wise in Anime. I felt quite certain I would give this a 10/10 comes series end given just how invested I was with the characters and the story. But unfortunately those last few episodes were just far too over the top and it damaged some the experience slightly for me. For one it's the same ending I've seen in a bunch of different shows but I think what bothered me most was just how out of nowhere alot of the climax of this show is with little to no explanation. Everything just gets ramped up to crazy. I seriously don't know why so many Anime have to finish on some philosophical filled fight between powered up hero and damn near god villain but I'm so tired of it at this point it automatically deducts a shows favor with me. Garo The Animation is a seriously cool and extremely good show, it just doesn't end very well imo. |

| Lara was just a plot device to push Leon forward in his "growth" with her death. Mom burning Mendoza at the end was an asspull. Plot was uneven. Characters not given time to breathe, didn't believe their relationships at all. Ema was a rebound for Leon I suppose and she takes off. Organization tries to wipe out a town but I guess that will be ignored, these Knights take orders from this uncaring shadowy person and just accept it? Whatevs, the final eps were exciting in a mindless way but hard to forget what came before, story had no focus |

| So Anna protected her son in the end, what a great mother she is. Mendoza will burn for eternity, thanks to Anna. I guess those flames were to protect than for revenge. I also thought Leon's goodbye to his father was touching, German will be himself until the end. I felt bad they had to kill him without any emotions involved, I wanted him to say at least farewell to Ximena. Speaking of her, it seems she's pregnant, and of course German is the father, but mostly it's a boy. I knew Ema wouldn't die, and she would leave instead, that's usually the memo of this kind of series. Anyways I'm glad she didn't die. I was also so overjoyed when Alfonso has found someone he likes, you go boy, that red haired was really pretty. This wasn't a bad series, but not certainly the best though. It had some various cliché marks, but it still delivered well. The characters were okay, but they could've done better on their emotional side. I felt there was not enough deep feelings around them, I wanted more emotions and interpersonality from them. Like Ema and Leon, those shared a passionate but their relationship was empty as if nothing happened. Even when she kissed him there, and it looked like she was going to die, he only stood there and uttered only her name and moved on. What was the point of Garm, if she wasn't going to impact anything from the series? The music was nice though. Besides the blinding armors, the animation was a breeze. Plot was clichéd alright. If I feel like it, I will check out season 2. But just maybe. 6/10. |

| Quite the ending! Really enjoyed it I must say, had pretty much everything for a good ending like this. The time jump as well and that the 'immortality' is passed on this time again was really a nice touch and finish. I do wonder what the ova/special has to offer next to this or if it's just something else. All in all I did quite enjoy it! |

| That was one hell of a finale. The markings on his body being a form of protection was told in the beginning, so it makes sense that it cursed Mendoza. I wish they mentioned it a little bit more, it might felt less like a deus ex machina. Mendoza has to burn for eternity. Healing factor + Being constantly burned to death = Not fun. It's a shame about Ema and Leon not being thing, although its pretty obvious they really care about each other. Overall, a solid 7/10. Great characters, a decent story, a pretty good soundtrack and some very good animation. An enjoyable watch from start to finish, even if it suffers from weak writing at times. |
