| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- What a freaking pain these last 2 volumes where to read, WTF. The writter didnt think this right at all! Was very hyped for this arc, I had my doubts though, since 2 volumes for a sports festival? Very much enjoyed reading most of the sports part, and all the romcom surround the cast, but Mikasa and Index had some highlights along with Mikasa's mother, and many other cast, it was really a different feel and just an interesting to read arc, IF... If it didnt dragged this much! However had the idea to write such a long plot involving a continuous pursuit of Touma and gang after Orianna, but have been really narrow-minded at the time. Too much description, for alot of shit that I just didnt care about, Christianity this, Cross, that, Constellation positions, huge backstory (& hystorical) infodumps, C.R.A.Z.Y! I m sure I skiped or just lighted readed through some of them, it just took the enjoyment out of reading this, this arc would have been soo dope if it was compressed solely on a volume. Each volume had around 230 pages, it would have been so more enjoyable with around 300-320 pages, too much going back and forth. Over the last volumes I have come to appreciate more the magic side (next volume is HYPE), but this was too much, thank god I preservered, and didnt slow down in my reading (really want to get to those later volumes and NT), otherwise I would have probably took a week just to read these, if I didnt force myself to at times. Yesterday I spoiled myself about something big I already knew from NT for sometime, but then I finally made sense out of it, and it is a mindfuck that makes me see certain cast in a different light now, and truly feel how terrifying this certain person can be... HUGE New Testament spoilers inside (pos NT vol18) CHILLS, the future for this series looks to be going in a very fucked up direction, cant wait to reach there~~ |

I couldn't skip anything, but you're totally right it could have been easily put into one volume. and I'm so tempted to look at the spoiler but I cant bring myself to do so, I know I'll regret it if I spoiled myself xD You will regret if you read the spoiler, but will also be a dope spoiler, dont read it, if you dont like MAJOR teases to what is to come. Forgot to say, but I did love this volume in the anime, the adaptation is rushed sure, but thank god it was, a rare example of how rushing some original material maybe for the better! |

| This arc was indeed kinda dragged. It was the best and most ambitious so far though. It was interesting to see the different perspectives in the chase, and Academy City's worldbuilding was expanded well here. The airport as a final scenery... Also lots of lore on the way. I still don't like the "Catholic Church is shady" trope, but I'll kindly ignore it for the sake of enjoyment. It has been a really fun read so far. |
