| As a fan of Hajime no Ippo, one of the greatest sports anime ever made I would probably use the 3 episode rule and see how the anime develops. The first episode feels pretty hype for me tho. |

| Guess you can use the rule of three: watch the first three episodes, then determine whether you like the anime or not. Although some anime are exceptions to this rule, so watch more or less than three episodes if you must. |

I concur, but at times it may take 5 eps for an anime to appease me, and in rare cases I can cancel an anime even on episode one (of course, if it doesn't suit my tastes or if I fell asleep due to boredom while watching.) Ashita no Joe was my grandfather's favorite anime, so given this and combined with my excessive obsession for darn imouto anime, which has sadly stressed me out as hell and had already went too far, it's about time for me a watch an anime amongst men and for REAL men. |
| I’m more curious if the show is actually as good as the 8.40 score it has. After a certain Youtuber made a video on this anime the score jumped tremendously. |
| I wouldn't call it AOTY just yet, but it has that special vibe to it like Violet Evergarden did. Those two series are part of the handful of rare ones that make me feel like I'm not JUST watching any old anime series in general |

But if watching Joe will bring it to another level then maybe I should. Opinion? To answer OP question, I think you should, cuz good anime always has these good vibes about them, and try to pickup Cowboy Bebop and Trigun to get these vibes. |

| If you like unconventional music in anime then a yes. If you want a plot that makes you engaged with your brain shut off then a yes. But if you want to use your brain to figure out what's gonna happen next then a big no. The anime has failed to provide anything jaw dropping in the first two episodes yet it sits at 8.4 purely based on the OST and an MC who has personality issues. The story is nothing spectacular either. The story is predictable like the timing of the sun rises and sun sets. The animation is choppy, the art is a mess that wanted to make it look retro but it isn't. If you want to see a retro anime done right in modern days, watch Gundam The Origin. |

Expecting a Jaw dropping moment for 2 first episode ?? It's like you watching Naruto season 1 with 2 Episode that know his Father... For me Jaw dropping for those 2 Episode is their Art, I know some of you doesn't like Retro art style, but some of you says it's Choppy, I think you need check your eyes mate, how fluid the animation on 1st Episode... The question about is this Worth for watching, ABSOLUTELY YES... Yes. The animation is choppy. Episode 2 looked like made by a production house already suffering from lack of time/resources. Also, I am not saying there needs to be anything jaw dropping at 2 episodes in yet the score of 8.4 is suggesting it has the best premier of the year which is a BIG NO. The art is forgettable. There is nothing amazing about it. People are comparing this with Cowboy Bebop like seriously? It's without a doubt highly overrated (Yeah, I had to use the stupid buzzword here) after 2 episodes in where anyone with peanuts for brain can tell what's gonna happen next. An average story has this pattern that you can tell what's gonna happen in the next segment. I cringed the moment the pro guy gave him a handicap. Looked dead set on stone that Joe will make him use the other hand. And I cringed again when he said about meeting him in the ring where he is at. Good shows need unpredictability (excluding certain genres). I am not saying there will be unpredictable things down the line but right now it's so predictable that I need to question the level of intelligence of people who would defend this being worthy of an 8.4 just 2 episodes in if they aren't just scoring it because of the OST (which I admit is pretty nice for a change) and the retro thing which looks terribad. |

| I didn't like it because it felt like a watered down version of the original. I know i shouldn't compare the two, but it's pretty hard not to. I just didn't care for the Ashita no Joe knock off characters and the boxing didn't interest me either. I've already read the Joe manga, so to me it's not worth watching a simplified version of the story. That's just how i feel about it though. |

| Worth for sure but if you don't like it then don't watch it because everyone is different and even if majority likes it you can always be the minority who doesn't like it and nothing is wrong with that. :) |
| It is not that good. The fights are short and not so good, and it does not give you same feeling as other fighting/boxing anime. When I was kid, I watched Ashita no Joe and if I remember it was way better than this, the fights kept me at the edge of my seat. The match against carlos revera ? and that Josse mendosa fight was so great. I don't remember a lot of it, but I remember it was far better than shit I did not like Hajime no Ippo 1st season a lot because it wasted too much time on slice of life stuff and character development, so alot of episodes felt boring. It is still better than megalo box overall. Hajime no Ippo 2nd and 3rd season are day and night better than Megalo Box I'm not saying Megalo Box is bad, but I feel 8.42 is too much for this show. It does not deserve more than 7/10. Personally, I give it only 6/10 at most based on the 6 episodes that I watched. |
