You would have had a better argument if you had talked about the fact that this anime is getting produced regardless of what the West thinks because the finance is by China. Its a win-win situation for Japan & risky for China and has nothing to do with any other country.

Again, streaming sales is a good sign for China which means more pandering to them in the future. But even if everyone in the West who's a pirate, buys anime from now on, it won't even come to 10% of China simply because of their huge population size.

It's no secret that China is an economy flush with money these days. Many different industries, including Hollywood and other entertainment businesses, have spent the last five or so years actively trying to court Chinese investment. And as for the anime business, it's enjoying a windfall of revenues for licensing new shows to Chinese mobile and internet content companies like Tencent.

“Demand in China is increasing greatly,” Widad said. “People are becoming more and more connected through their mobile phones, and Chinese consumers now don’t only watch anime on TV or their computer; they tend to watch a lot on their phones. That is why we get to see a lot of 10-minute episodes; it’s the most useful for people watching anime in the train or during breakfast.”
