Victor is fine. He seams to be doing a good enough job and he has both the charisma and levelheadedness one would expect from a king, plus, unlike the princess, he knows when he needs to be strict and put his foot down, which the inexperienced princes lack (or I have not seen this quality in any of them as of now). Also something else in his favor, he apparently won a war (which should be common in the time period), and he is also cunning (something none of the princes have displayed as of now).
Leonhard is too naive, too inexperienced, easy to control. If he would get on the throne the possibility of being a puppet king is very high with him, since one only need spoil him and make it seem like he's running the country. I don't like this about his personality, and I hope he gets some development because I feel like he's Victor's favorite (from what I've seen).
Bruno is a little insensitive towards the people he would be ruling, but out of all that I've seen I think he's the most levelheaded and the one who would be the hardest to manipulated (Heine only manages it so well because he is smarter than him).
Kai is easy to take down for the Steward. He has a speech impairment, which should be a big deal in that country, and if the succession to the throne is based on the people's likability for the King, than Kai is doubly disadvantaged by his mean looking face. It's nasty of me to pick on him for these things, but in a pseudo medieval society, those things would instantly disqualify him, and people were very much shallow back then, so Kai imo is the one who needs the most improvement out of all the princes if he is to inherit the throne.
Licht would have seemed like the best candidate if it weren't for episode 6. Just like Bruno, Licht doesn't seem to be as much aware of the people and what they need from him, and unlike all the other princes, he's pretty darn shallow, so people could easy kiss up to him and get their way, making him easily manipulated as well. I thought he was cunning before episode 6, but I gotta say I was disappointed by his persuasive abilities when he was found out...
Eins... I do not even know what this guy looks like... but I hope he does not disappoint when he shows up, give how much he's built up to be this image of perfection...
So, If I had to vote right now, I'd be for Victor. He's doing fine. But I'm still hoping the princes will improve, and I'm still waiting to see if Eins brings something else to the table.
If you think about it, Victor used to do exactly what Licht is doing right now, and he grew and matured thanks to the experience. If I were to nominate anyone, it'd be Licht. |
