| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well that's interesting. Deku received some nice advice about Hitoshi's quirk. The fight itself was okay I guess, felt more like mind games going on between the two of them and it had a decent amount of psychology to it. Interesting to learn more about Hitoshi's past though. Todoroki and his father still has a pretty tense relationship. I love how they protray both characters so far though especially Todoroki as he wants to prove to the world of what he is capable of. His first opponent is such a jobber |

| Another great episode. Seeing Deku overcome the mind control was quite an intense moment. The visuals were incredible when One For All kicked in. It was cool to see the previous users help him out. That final fight he had with Shinso was super intense, loved it! Some pretty experimental music was used in this episode. |

It's Midoriya vs Shinso in match 1 of the one-on-one tournament! And in addition to having a chip on his shoulder we finally learn about Shinso's quirk: mind control! Damnit Deku! And even after Ojiro warned you you still responded to him entering his trap! As he walks closer and closer towards his defeat, desperate for anyway to break the trance Deku sees... several pairs of eyes? In the entranceway? What in the...but wait! He's done it! At the cost of his finger...ouch. But who were those shadowy figures? Oh Shinso, poor boy picked the wrong person to cry to about being born with a good quirk. If anyone knows that pain it's my boy Midoriya! :D And after a brief struggle it's...Midoriya with the flip to move on! And after the fight Shinso receives some, imo, deserved praise from the audience, heroes and general studies students alike. Don't give up Shinso! And nicely done Deku. :D But that vision? Might All Might have any ideas? The previous wielders of One-For-All? Very interesting...but no time to ruminate just now. Todoroki's confronting his douchebag dad! Todoroki's resolved to win with ice alone, but can he do it? Well if his match with tapeboy Sero is any indication I like his chances! :D Geez Todoroki...talk about overkill! Taking out some of your frustrations? Not exactly heroic but a win's a win I guess. Even if Deku doesn't like the sadness he's seeing. |

| Props to Shinso for not going the villain way, especially when people around you tell you that you are suited for that life. Overall it was mostly a mental fight with not much happening, but the next one surely was fast. Todoroki is a badass, but he did exagerate a bit. The "don't worry about it" was probably even worse for Sero dude. |

| Damn that's some quirk Shinso has and one to look out for. I bet he'd be a handful if he actually became a villain lol. I wish we could see all the previous users of One for All in the future... Todoroki though... he's pissed off as hell and that fight proved what an untamed and badass beast he is! All the best to Deku in the next round against him... |
| It sucks that Deku can't come out and say I know how you feel to Shinso because he has to keep how he got his quirk a secret. It also sucks that Todoroki is just basically a tool to his dad because he only gives a damn about being better than All Might. The best part of the episode though was the previous owners of one for all showing up in front of Deku. Like All Might said it's because he is getting a better grasp on using it. I can't wait for Deku vs Todoroki. |

| Great episode. The Midoriya and Shinso confrontation and the One for All scene were both handled well. Also, poor Sero didn't stand a chance. Don't mind, you're still one of my favorites of the side characters. |

| Music used during the brainwashing segment was really different and cool. Set the atmosphere, reminded me of Shiki, all good things. All things considered, both fights were probably very anticlimatic in-universe. At least Sero got a cool animation cut + fitting music at the beginning of his, lol |
| Amazing episode. Deku overcoming the mind control was epic as hell, I was waiting for the animation of his epic 'look behind the shoulder amidst the smoke' moment and needless to say it was epic. XD The visuals when the vision of the previous One for All owners appeared was absolutely amazing. Despite Deku's epic breakthrough and melee fighting to throw Shinso out of the ring, the first half was really emotional for me. I'm probably the one of the few who started tearing up after watching the contrast between Deku and Shinso with the latter's feelings mirroring what Deku felt before inheriting One for All. Watching Shinso shout out about how blessed Deku his for having his power with Deku unable to respond but understanding what Shinso was getting at is just so emotional. T.T I loved the part where Shinso answered Deku's question for why he wanted to be a hero, "You can't help the things you long for" Shinso. The tears keep coming T.T It made me really happy to see the heroes in the audience acknowledge Shinso's quirk, pretty uplifting moment there. Don't give up Shinso! Outstanding use of soundtrack once again, we even got a new version of the 'You can be a hero' OST which was awesome. That soundtrack is way too good at making me emotional. Todoroki just wrecked Sero, animation for his stadium high freeze was awesome. Felt bad for Sero, poor guy had to fight an angry Todoroki. Bring on the next round of matches. Plus Ultra! |

| Great episode. Deku managing to snap out of Shinso's brainwashing. Interesting to see the previous One for All users in his vision. That throw was awesome. Shinso's quirk could definitely be used for villainous purposes. Glad he wants to be a hero. I'm sure he'll be a great hero one day. Nice to see some of the Pros acknowledge him. Poor Sero. DAMN Todoroki is pissed & went overboard. Excited to see the rest of the upcoming battles. Plus Ultra. |

| Standing applause for shinso. He's just mirror to Midoriya or maybe better. He can become the greatest villain ever with his quirk as long as he keep his quirk hidden. Hope he's gonna become hero he long for. I teared up when watched his story T.T Todoroki just so strong though he still has long way to go just like bakugo. keep your calm man... poor sero... there'll be next time...don't mind |

| Pretty great episode as always. Shinso's defeat was a lot more emotional than I remember. Next episode we'll get through quite a few battles, then I can't wait until Ochako vs Bakugou in 2 episodes, probably. Pretty excited. I'd like to see them maybe expand a little on Kirishima and the other hardening quirk-user's brawl too :P |

| A great episode as I was expected to see but even though talking about Shinsou's Quirk, it isn't simple to avoid it. Fortunately, Izuku manage to get out with his Quirk after seeing the unknown people behind All Might as he looked like them, in case it was 'One for All' and All Might did explain a bit but said "a trace of something they left behind in One for All." At least, Shouto kinda went too far but apologize as he went overboard and was angry. I didn't bet he was sorry for Nemuri getting half-frozen and were able to talk but she was just there apparently. :P  |

| Midoriya's match was indeed pretty boring, but seeing how Todoroki blasted the oppenent with ice, I'll bet Todoroki vs Midoriya is gonna be amazing. |

| What made the Shinso/Deku fight work was what was driving these characters, plus they did a great job with the facial expressions and the music Above all what I like the most is that they establish a very interesting character here, I'm rooting for Shinso to make a comeback at some point The Todoroki fight was amazing, that music was great and fitting |

Is it an asspull when the Quirk he has is still relatively unexplained? He didn't get a power up and he didn't break out of it with determination. It just happened inadvertently as a result of an effect of his Quirk and we don't know why yet. |

| The battle wasn't that exciting (even Present Mic lampshades that), but at least it has showed Deku is progressing in his domain of One For All. Sero was rekted hard. He didn't stood a chance, lmao. Dat face.  |

| Two fights in this episode that were rather underwhelming, but there wasn't much that could be done about Deku's fight, and Sero stood no chance against a pissed off Todoroki. Can't wait to see some of these other fights, before we get to the Todoroki/Deku match. That one should be great in animated form. |

| Nice ep! "That was a boring first match" present mike being savage AF. HAHA! yeah and i kinda agree with that but... Well Shinsou vs Deku was quite a unique fight to me, haven't seen any psychological attacks in shounen sports games/battle arena so this is new to me. Ah and Shinsou, I respected him after this! this guy is pretty blunt and harsh but he's a good man! He's quirk is actually pretty good and useful. Todoroki!!! summoning that massive ICE BERG!. This guy show NO MERCY! feel sorry for Sero the dudes frozen stiff but he just had to fight an angry Shouto. XD Shouto vs Sero was very quick and ruthless but Todoroki did a GOOD JOB of shutting up his ass father, and this is a really nice build up for Deku vs Todoroki later on! that "SHUT UP DUNCE FACE"! of bakugou! XD Dunce face, Half and half, Soy sauce face tape, Racoon Eyes... HAHAHA! Kachann and his creative name calling... Next eps more battles! and I'm still waiting for Uraraka vs Bakugou! |

| And with that, we got even more OFA foreshadowing.....I can't believe that I never caught on to the stars thing when I first read the manga up to this point xD But as for next week, I really hope that we get some extended versions of all those fights (Like Momo vs Tokoyami) so I'm looking forward to it Shoutout to Shinsou though, you deserved all that praise |

| I really want to like this series but I just hate Midoriya he is such a garbage protagonist. One the other hand I'm quiet intrigued with Todoroki he is much more interesting. I am also looking forward to Bakugou rapping Uraraka in the next episode. |
Yaho~ Non-manga reader here.... (also weeab fujoshi trash) I totally caved after last weeks episode and actually already looked up Shinso's quirk... I couldn't help myself, I'm horrible at waiting patiently for episode... but still... it's a really nice Quirk... I'd love it LOL. (I don't think I'd be as good with it as Shinso is though...) ALSO OMG SHINSO I'M SO SORRY FOR SAYING YOU WERE DODGEY AF... YOU'RE ACTUALLY A LOVELY WONDERFUL ANGST CHILD AND I'M SO SORRY FOR DOUBTING YOU. On another note... Omg thou. Kacchan's face when Izuku pulled that move.  This face shall be forever locked up in a safe place for my eyes. :') Honestly though, I realized instantly too, and then when it showed Kacchan's fACE I WAS LIKE YASS IZUKU YOU'VE USED THAT MOVE BEFORE. Kacchan's probs realising his gay love for Izuku after that..  I totally ship em tho so yh... XD I'm just trash like that (Izuku goes with everyone tbf he's like Hinata Shouyou.. he just works well with nearly everyone..) Anyway...  Shinso and Izuku are quite a like... and I like that... I'm hoping they interact more in the future, because I think I like Shinso. I also like the two of them together, they could be amazing friends personally...  Todoroki's angry face is scary man... I cannot bare to see him look so damn angry... he needs a hug and better parents...Please.  Damn tho... Is this him not holding back at all.. or is he still holding back a bit because obviously he can't do serious damage to his opponent or he gets disqualified... because if he's still holding back a bit I'm dead. | Good episode once again. Good to see Deku won the match, even though it was pretty much expected, but it was still quite intense. Todoroki's match was something else though. His dad is such an ass to say the least. |
