| This anime is way too similar to the settings of your average eroge. Difference is, 12 episodes is around 4 hours in total, where your average eroge is anywhere 5-15 times that length. I honestly don't see how you can write romance of 6 heroines in just 4 hours of content. If you like omnibus format romance, you should definitely look into some eroge, which will have time to actually develop the heroines and give you a satisfying ending. |
| Nobody have that kind of time, eroges are longer, spans about a day or so to be completed, while it is consistence and coherent, the time what plays a role in this shit. I'm looking forward to this series just because it gives the Amagami SS vibe, I don't play eroge since it is long, and I mean long... |

Eroge has a lot lines with narrative, and more plot-less dialogues. But i will agree, 12ep for 6 girls does not seems enough. Amagami did a perfect job with 25ep+12ep(s2). It will be another photokano. But i like it anyway, they are all quite good romance, which a rare nowadays, with exception of ...*cough*... shoujo... |

And, if you don't already know, eroge is the main type of what you call "Visual Novels". Eroges and VNs are not synonymous. Lots of eroges don't fall into the VN format, and lots of VNs don't feature a single sex scene. A visual novel is just that : a novel with visual and audio elements attached to it. Just like there is erotic litterature, there are erotic VNs. Simple. Also, should something be considered an eroge just because it features sex ? Then, when a movie has sex in it it's automatically porn ? I'm not denying that a sizeable share of VNs add sex scenes in them to boost their sales, just that you ought to make a distinction. Calling Higurashi, Stein's Gate or Ever17 an eroge just feels wrong. |
| Since when did I ever call those games eroge? Are you sure you aren't misunderstanding me? Also, your comment reeks of someone that has no idea what an eroge actually is. Fact is, eroge dominates the market, over 98% of the games released each year are 18+, and non 18+ makes the 2%. This is the reason why I call them niche, because they're so unpopular. And don't even get started on "but but but Steins Gate is popular (its not even that popular)", because just because 1 non 18+ game is somewhat popular, doesn't mean its not niche. |

But the annoying thing is that the word "eroge" (which is used widely by Japanese fans, as they don't call them VNs) has kind of lost its meaning. The word seems to imply the game is centered around sexual content. However, while that may be true for nukige, it isn't for most eroge. The thing is that VNs kind of began as porn. But then, as players were bored of porn-without-plot, the companies started creating VNs with real stories and plot, in which the porn was just a necessary gimmick for people to buy. But the word "eroge" still continued being used to name those VNs, even though it may not describe them well at all. |
