I love seeing these three together!

I'm guessing the supreme commander will be Kanki.

Damn the hype is real too much, this battle for Gyou will be one of the best so far in the series, and we've had A LOT of great fights.

And yeah I though first of Kanki as well there at the end, but we'll see. I doubt its anyone of those 3 standing tho.

It's quite predictable that Kanki (or it might be Sei himself xD) is chosen as the supreme commander and also hype for the coming war.
Hope the trio will exceed expectation and become general after this.

I feel like this battle Gyou is a way of a test to bring out the true potential...

Curious to see who will be named the superior commander.

Highly doubt Sei would go to the frontlines, that's just dumb.
I have a feeling it'll be Karyo Ten or might be Kanki, either way the cliffhanger end wasn't good for my health.

Hm, I'm not sure if appointing Kanki is the best of ideas. If you want to get Zhao to accept Qin's authority and good intentions, you probably shouldn't feed their grudge by getting your most cruel general to oversee your campaign. As Shin pointed out earlier, the unification of China is incompatible with his cruel methods. Of course, he could be instructed to hold back, but that's hardly conducive to victory. It would make more sense for him to lead the western campaign, with him being defeated (or at least held back) by Riboku because he knows Kanki's weak point, only for Riboku to realize that his victory was Pyrrhic. Or at least that'd be fun, and would once again re-establish Riboku as a strategic genius.

It's true that it's hard to see who else it should be, though. Ousen is too self-centered, Moubu lacks the flexibility and strategic insight required and Shin, Mouten and Ouhon lack experience. Tou would make sense, as he towers over all when it comes to experience and his previous campaign with Shin & co went very well. Or maybe it'll be Shouheikun himself? We'll see next week I guess.

Having said that, is it actually true that this is a weekly manga? And if so, is it updated every Sunday? I only just caught up, so... :)

Edit: oh yeah, I forgot about Yotanwa. She's also an option, I suppose. Maybe.
Edit2: also, Shin & co are ruled out because Sei said they should strive to become generals after the campaign.

I don't think Kairyo Ten will be the supreme commander since the Hi shin need her.

It is a weekly manga and the release depends one the translators.Sometime they are late but it will be out eventually..
Yotama would be great and the mountain guys would be really helpful.

There are not many possible choice for a leader : Ousen, Kanki or Yotanwa. Tou deals with Wei and Moubu has his hands full with Karin.

Kanki is out of question since he just got his own arc, so it's Ousen or Yotanwa.

My guess would be Ousen since he is more familiar with how the Qin army works.

My guess is Ousen.

He's said to be one of their strongest generals, but he's doesn't currently have the screentime to get that message through.

Yotanwa also fit that description though...

It's true that Tou is guarding the border with Wei, but there's no reason why someone else couldn't take his place. Ousen would be a good choice if he's willing to put his all into it. But this is an extremely risky mission, and Ousen is extremely aversive to risk. Yotanwa is a bit of a stretch, because she has little experience outside of the mountains, and is therefore a risky choice, but it's possible.

Given the variety of answers we've seen here, though, it's probably fair to say that we simply don't know at this point. :)

Edit: storywise, though, I agree with crocodileman94 that Ousen makes sense. He really does need more development, and having Ouhon serve under his father would be interesting as well. Tou would be a much more boring choice.

Kanki will definitely play some role in this campaign, there was some foreshadow to this. But I'm not sure if he's gonna be supreme commander. I would like to see Ousen in charge.

I could very easily see this happen with Kanki and Riboku, though Kanki would have to be completely unaware of being a diversion or he'd never do it.

I would also bet on Ousen since he seems like the most applicable next in line for limelight, and I think this kind of hidden strike force campaign suits him.

Though I could also see a lot of sense in Shouheikun taking the reigns himself. It shows the troops just how all out/do or die this campaign is and will also be great for morale. Not to mention Riboku would never see it coming. Especially with his superior intelligence network marking and accounting for the whereabouts of all the generals, which could be a reason Shin, Mouten, and Ouhon were chosen. Yotanwa might still fit the bill in this case, though I feel like Riboku would have tabs on her too, and it seems unlikely that Sei would ask this kind of suicide mission of her after all she's done for him.

My bet is on Yotanwa or Shouheikun. The battle of Gyou is the first "real" battle for the supposed Unification and having Kanki and Ousen who aren't exactly fan favorites would really be a curveball. But that's just me though.

I'd argue Kanki IS a fan favorite.

That said, he just got a major arc so it either served to hype him as a commander (which I'm not sure is necessary) or it means it won't be him. Since everyone's been suggested as an option, we really have no clue. I even saw another board where people thought one of those 3 (Mouten, Shin, Ouhon) would lead it.

Pretty much every possible person except Kyoukai and Heki has been suggested lol.

Oh boy...Sei just showed Mouten and Ouhon why he is a King...and Why Shin is so Loyal to him.
that Kind of word to Men who are not yet a Generals? yeah...Honor Indeed.

Lol, for second I was thinking are they really going to Decide Supreme Commander from these 3...then Realize lol, they have Real Generals....Why I am thinking that now it will be Ousen's turn?

Nah don't think it's Kanki, seems more likely it's Ousen perhaps ? Since we haven't really followed him yet. Tho it'd be kinda interesting if it actually was Kanki. Shin is gonna be pissed lol.

I have a feeling Ousen will be the supreme commander. We have yet to see him lead the charge and this way it might delve into his true motivations since it's alluded that nobody knows what the hell he stands for but himself. I can't wait to see who it is next chapter!
