Hmm, this episode was odd. It had a lighthearted feel like a vacation until Sae gets herself involved with a Kegare. Sigh, why can't she be more careful..

A bit of an unusual Kegare though as it expresses human behavior. Too bad for him, he got attacked by exorcists. I mean, what was he expecting anyway? Almost kinda felt bad for the guy. I'm impressed by the higher level exorcists though.

Sae ran off by herself 3 times in this episode alone...they really need to lock the car and look after her better

and that kegare isn't the first to shed tears...and we'd know that if Pierrot animated the flashback chapter where Rokuro exorcised a crying impurity when he was a kid

I wish the anime invested more time into Sakura and Miku in this episode though...I mean, why introduce these Guardians early if we're not going to get to know them? They're only acting as cameos right now...
Looking forward to seeing/hearing the Musclehead and Mecha Babe Guardians next episode though, I suppose

These kegare of the week seem to get stranger and stranger every episode. This week Leo the Lion got to seek out beauty with Sae. Next week...baseball?

So Mayura and the other are working as the medical support.
Episode mostly about Sae's "adventure" with the Lion Kegare. And that last kill, I know they're professional but still it feels too harsh.

Pretty good episode by filler standards.

Sad that Lion had to be sent away like that, Would have been nice if he could have seen the sight with Sae, Speaking of which Lion reminded me a lot of Kimahri from FF X.

That was a pretty good anime original episode and it actually managed to achieve something the source material has failed to do which is to make us sympathize with the Kegare. Shame the art and animation has been lackluster because this arc certainly deserves high production values.

I'm glad someone else was also reminded of FFX. When that lion basara thing first showed up, the first thing that came to mind was what the hell is Kimahri doing there lol.

If you look at this episode closely, you'll see that this is Japan's recreation of Harambe's death.

In all seriousness though, this was a pretty sad episode. I felt bad for Lion and how he died because of the unfortunate situation he was in, and also for Sae since she forced herself to hold back her sadness in front of Rokuro and Benio. Interesting how I thought this filler episode was better than a good majority of the 23 episodes before it.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

God it's like you just skimmed through the chapters without remembering or paying attention to anything.

Here, the makes us feel sympathy for Lion and it's easy to choose his side over the 12 Guardians/exorcists who fight kegare because he's painted to be a victim, no matter how you look at it. While in the manga, not only does it make us feel sympathy for Kegare but also makes us question the morality of the each side (this also makes it harder for us to decide which side is right and wrong). We see that there are Kegare whose motives aren't harmful but the actions they perform to fulfill their desires is what makes them morally gray; in the manga, we see the idea of kegare being victims but at the same time, they do horrible things (because it's the only way) in order to no longer stay the victims.

You can like the anime more than the manga, but to dismiss that aspect from the manga entirely and say that the manga failed at it/never did it at all is rather unfair and screams of cherry picking.

Yes really makes me question the morality of each side. /s

Well too bad the manga hasn't done a good job to portray them as tragic or sympathetic villains. If it has then do refresh my memory because I hardly remember any part where I was able to sympathize with even one of them.

Not only is the art getting steadily worse TSE is getting very repetitive. They don't have to have the same battle every episode. Would be nice to see some character development. Sae is a pain in the ass as well.

That's the point though...You're supposed to feel sorry for them but that doesn't excuse what they've done. You don't have to agree with a character's behavior/actions in order to feel sorry for them.
Their intentions weren't wrong but the way they do things is what makes them morally gray.

I feel like it's because you chose not to sympathize with them based on your own moral compass rather than looking at the kegare impartially.
And yes, please refresh your memory because this isn't the first time you've omitted details from the manga in your arguments against it. And you'd probably be able to catch the significant foreshadowing the manga had since the beginning of the series that the anime left out if you pay attention.

Well I mean this whole arc is pretty repetitive with the whole "we gotta destroy all the dragon spots" driving its plot haha
but next episode looks like we'd probably encounter basara who were directly involved with the dragon spots but who knows...a lot of my expectations with this anime are never met, no matter how low I keep em.

Sae is ruining this show. Seriously. It was cute at first and get the whole point of her inclusion, at the very least serving as a focal point to mature the twin star relationship. But, seriously, each episode revolves around her some way or another. Not liking that trend presently.

This has 26 episodes to go and the arc status post nuking nii-san has not been very entertaining. Again, I blame Sae and the new monster of the week set up.

Man, not even in other animes Leomon can be saved from being killed. I though the Lion would die through all the episode (since his character was throwing deathflags since he befriends Sae), and just when it seems Rokuro and Benio would spare him, the two bitches appears and exorcise him.
Oh, well...

I enjoyed the episode, though.

In this episode, I feel a bit sad about Mr. Lion being exorcised by one of those 2 Guardians that was just introduced.
I feel like Sae-chan being sad would accumulate and then she's gonna turn instant adult and become very powerful and will kill one of the guardians and then Twin Star would have no choice but to stop her...lolololz I'm just thinking of the possibilities haha!
4/5.

This episode was fun though a it odd

I guess it comes as no surprise that there are kagare that are not inherently evil but the one we encountered here was certainly unique.

The fact that Mr Lion only wanted to see something beautiful and not just consume humans though was a surprise.

Im glad that Sae and later Benio and Rokuro understood this
But its too bad that the 12 guardians came and messed things up

Still at least he had his wish fulfilled before then

Overall a good light heated episode that allowed us to see things from a new perspective. Maybe there will be peace between the realms sometime in the future

Everyone seems to be missing that this original filler also showed us more of Sae and how she really isn't as innocent as we may think. I thinks it's too obvious by now that Sae isn't a normal child, but this episode helped us see a bit deeper into her. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
