The episode was decent, but i wonder about the characters that hans't show up yet. And it's going to Kill La Kill in the comedy idea and it's clearly not working

It's kind of got to the stage where I can predict the criticisms of shows with potential as I'm watching them, even though they're incorrect. If you want a "dark" and "serious" anime this season I suggest you watch Big Order. It's written for your demographic!

This is still the best show of the season. The characters and animation are really expressive. I felt like only half of each character's personality was conveyed through exposition alone, something that's lost on most anime. For the first few scenes I was worried the quality had dropped, but then I noticed they seemed to have a different animator with a more comedic style. At any rate there's a lot of visual interest in this show.

As for the story, I'm keeping an open mind since I can't particularly tell where it's going from here. People complaining about Mari Okada having common themes in her work (shock horror!) aside, I liked Ano Hana and Iron-Blooded Orphans so I'm not pessimistic about the story. As far as I'm concerned it's on studio Trigger to use the obvious enthusiasm they've displayed so far to make this into an entertaining ride, hammy script or not.

I gotta say, I'm not too impressed by the series so far. I think the animation looks really good, although the characters and story don't have me sold quite yet. The end of the episode was intriguing enough though, so that has me optimistic about the series.

The show is quite eccentric and "no sense" at times but it's visually just my type of show despite not being sure where we are heading with the characters and the plot. Most things people wanted to keep secret, besides Maki, were harmless and I wondered why we spent a whole episode on it. Still I'm pretty invested and I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Well that’s one way to force character development. Top question of the show so far, why do they use Gomorin for everything!?

Also, the clueless osananajimi confessed in episode TWO! That's gotta be a world record.

Taking danger with style.

I expected something more dark after the first episode, but this episode had more comedy. It felt off, but can't say I didn't enjoy it. Guess it'll get darker later on - I hope. That ending though.

A good episode.

I like the characters and their personalities they're pretty funny.

Why do I feel like I'm the only one who wasn't expecting this show to be super serious and dramatic (especially this early on), and just thought it was gonna be a slightly light-hearted series. And ooooh I just now saw the genre tags as I'm typing this so now I know why people were expecting it, but I'm not gonna delete this cause screw it lol.

Hey, that's the first time I noticed I share the same birthday with an anime character! Too bad he's a meathead and scared shitless of dogs....

Other than that, I did like this episode better than the first. However, like many others before me I believe the comedy needs to be turned down a bit so the serious tone can be better established. Knowing Trigger this might be asking for too much.

tbh I love the art so much that I will keep watching this even if it's bad . Anyway I wasn't expecting all this comedy but pretty much every anime this season seems to have a bit of comedy ( just look at Bungou stray dogs ).

For me its the same. 3/5 for the episode, some bullshit but still interesting enough to watch. The characters are getting interesting, but the way they are forcing the character development is strange.

Story still sucks-- presents itself as uninteresting from my standpoint.

Each character is banal beyond compare when you take away the situation they are put in-- Obnoxious chick, cold chick, MC's chick, probablyachickrelatednotbybloodtotheMC chick, deezed dude, cool-guy dude

Average musical cues-- fitting music.

Hard to enjoy (mostly because of my initial distaste in the first episode)-- Lacked the both the thrilling and comedic aspect of the show.

Overall, this episode was most likely put for character development between them all. It disregarded realism (although it may supposed to be in the first place). The characters seem to dislike the blue-haired chick, whilst some are not bewildered by the fact that the "allahu akbar" scene could've just ended it there for them. When put in a situation of distress, it seems foreign to them that they can save their own lives through just the spouting of their secrets. The cold girl admitted that she "killed" someone... Whether or not it was by accident or intentionally, they still pass that same ridiculous line of being realistic. It's just so confusing on how this show can get so illogical. Other than that...

Both the art and animation outdid themselves.

I love the fact that there is hidden comedy in the episodes. I also quitel ike the setting and the whole idea of Kiznaiver up to the point I want to continue watching. The anime still hasn't reached that point where I believe it's the best anime of the season yet. I still think that's Netoge atm. But it's certainly entertaining.

Originally it was only tagged as Sci-Fi, so I wasn't expecting anything, and I'm glad I wasn't, 'cause I'm really enjoying this show.
If it ends up getting more dark and serious, I wouldn't mind, but I also don't mind the comedy aspects. It's a fun show, and this episode is easily one of the more enjoyable episodes I've watched this season.

I don't know why you guys hate the comedy. I honestly loved it. It makes a good balance out of all the mystery of this anime. Besides, I'm pretty sure it's going to get dark soon enough anyways.

For now, I'm really disliking Yuta. He's kinda pisses me off.

Did anyone else think that confession scene was really predictable? I knew she was going to say that from the beginning of the episode.

Pretty good episode.
Noticed a lot of people saying the comedy didn't suit the show but I felt it was pretty nice.
I find the guys in the suits funny for some reason, Even reminds me of Saints Row xD

Lol at Yuta being fat and Chidori trying to cheer him up XD

Sonozaki is so heartless when pulling the trigger for the penalty, Gives me the Esdeath vibes. She even looks like her for that matter.

The confession scene was nice, Glad that the MC finally felt happy.
Hope there's actual romance between them :P

Find it hard to believe that Maki killed someone, Hope we get a flashback.

I like most of the characters till now probably with the exception of Maki and Yuta who I'm sort of neutral towards.
Looking forward to next episode.

Not a bad episode at all, but still no information at all regarding the aim of the project. I don't see this series going dark judging by most of the character personalities, especially with Niko around. Seems more like a sci-fi drama for now.

I liked this episode. Nice to learn a little about everyone's faults. The transition from comedy and the other drama to the scene where kacchon and chidori shared their feelings felt kind of awkward. It's not as if Chidori's feelings were a secret, but I feel like ep 2 was a little much for them to pull a tear-jerker scene.

I can't say the challenge was very original, but the sudden revelation that Honoka has killed someone has me curious enough to keep watching, plus I actually enjoy the characters. I'm hoping the characters are the strongest point to this series in the end.
I couldn't think of anything cool to put here.

This is actually good but you armchair analysts be all like "lolokada" or "loltrigger" when yall wouldn't bat an eye @ "tone" or whatever if it was written by urobutchi or based on a manga/light novel/visual novel. Shit is straight up pretty, has good animation, actually has good directing, idk how yall expected it to be serious when it was obviously very weird/eccentric from the start.

I'm pretty sure this show's going to get its dark groove going later on, we're still in the beginning phase so we're not going to get everything like right off the bat. We may have a description of the Kiznaiver system but like there's obviously going to be more than a mere on-the-surface description. We still don't know how, why, and where this is all going to go. We're still trying to get to know the faces.

We're gonna get there. Chill.

Reactions on reactions aside, I'm really intrigued by this show, I can't wait to see more of this.
Will I fall in love someday? I wonder?

Eww forced drama, what a way to rape the mind of the audience with contrived circumstances for revealing character backstories. The plot doesn't make sense. Things happen because the plot needs it.
Subtletly and world conditioning is what this show lacks.

It would be great if the problem is in our side only, but episode 1 set the tone in that edgy thingy and episode 2 was like - "have some Kill La Kill" moments, nyahaha. Humor stood as a sore thumb in a clear premise of making kids test subjects in a questionable system of developing empathy through pain. Put aside the forced revelation of personal secrets for a sec, but was pain needed in Chidori's case at all. Talking to Agata should be something she could do at any given time namely because she loves him. Why did she need a pain-carving system, when she cares for him to tears already.

Also, despite the ding-dongs of properly completing the first mission, I couldn't believe Agata's realization in the end. Something felt off by the way it was hurriedly claimed as success, while the guy looked half-dead as ever.

Contrary to popular belief, I'd like Kiznaiver to succeed, but that doesn't mean I'm going to just take it with my brains switched off. Seriously, this is the last series I'd like to laugh at and the way I see it, people complaining here isn't because of malice or ill intentions.

maybe i will give my final judgment in the next episode, even with chidori n niko cuteness i can't continue if the story become worse..

3/5
one for chidori
one for niko
one for maki's secret

So you expected complete seriousness... in a Trigger series. Nah, even with Mari Okada in the game, you always have to expect eccentricity with Trigger. I can kind of see why you say both styles don't clash very well, but I did like a lot this episode (although the comedy wasn't actually very funny whatsoever, at least compared to other Trigger shows).

Interactions between characters, which seem to be the strong point of the series, are pretty cool. Not as cool as in Monogatari as someone already said I think, but fairly interesting and keeps me hooked for more episodes.

I've seen many comments on the Internet saying that this series is not living up to its hype... To me, this is just another example of hype ruining a series.

I came into this anime blind, not even knowing that it was made by Trigger until the first episode, and so far, I find this anime so enjoyable and to me it is the 3rd best so far with Re:Zero and Kabaneri in 1st and 2nd and BnHA closely behind in 4th (I know BnHA is gonna get better real quick). So I have no idea why some are saying that this series has been disappointing so far.

Personally as a viewer that has not been hyped up for this series, I am finding this series really enjoyable these 2 episodes.
