Turns out muslims hate Noragami Aragoto OST. Last track (Push buttons), is supposedly their Call to prayer Adhan with autotune. Comments are basically war between muslim users and /pol/. Same thing is happening on twitter

I don't think the staff will do anything about it, as the show was made for Japan and hasn't branched to other parts of the world. If it offended Buddhists in Japan, something will be done probably.

As a muslim, i dont want anyone to make a fun of my religion. But also i wont take offense because for me that's got something to do with me, but it has something to do with God....
This is also my opinion when someone said Christians dont even mad when anyone make fun of their "Haleluyah"... It's their religion not mine. It's 100% up to them to get mad or not, but for muslim, we will upset if somebody make fun of our religion because it also 100% our right to be upset.

They're asking the Anime makers to take off the song entirely. You don't have a right to control media....

Not this kind of BS again.
Seriously, religious sensitivities are one of the main reasons why this world is so chaotic today.
Also, to begin with, the show's primary audience are the Japanese viewers.
They don't give a damn about whether gaijins like it or not for its Japanese content.
Also, if it's coincidental, why the hell would you request to remove the OST if it DOESN'T INTENTIONALLY harm your religious beliefs.
It's up to the producers to decide whether to remove the OST or not, not the audience especially the gaijins who are requesting for its removal.

Whether this is intentional or not, it's still harmful. Whether it's meant for Japanese people only or not, it's still harmful. Maybe not to you, or them, but to us Muslims. If you talk badly behind someone's back, is it no longer harmful? Is it only harmful when they hear it? Why do you people only talk about rights when it's against the victim? We are not "controlling" the media, we are asking for respect, as simple as that. And we have the right to do so, we have the right to get offended and mad and ask for an apology and a change. Whether you agree or not. You do not know the harm behind this because you're not getting harmed. But us muslims are, and we want this to stop.

The OST's pretty dope by the way.

You're asking them to go through the inconvenience of editing out something that was already finished just for VERY small percentage of the viewers to feel happier about themselves. Seems delusional, honestly. No disrespect, though. I just don't see how it would physically harm you in any way.

I'm a muslim and I watch Noragami Aragoto weekly. I see nothing offensive about Japan admiring our prayer and putting it in a soundtrack, I do not completely agree about it but I don't see any harm in that as it only appeared in episode six and nobody really noticed it because the action and all that shit was getting real on episode six so I paid zero attention to the music and focused on the fight lol

Nearly EVERYONE on my Facebook kept saying stuff like "I am gonna stop watching Noragami" just because of the soundtrack....I really don't know what to say, it's an excellent anime, their miss if they wanna miss out on it for that reason xD

normally I dont give a damn about some religion controversion, but using it on some polytheism themed film, I think it is absoluty wrong!

Well im a muslim as well...
i like this anime, i dont really hate the animator as well. Maybe they use this song without knowing that this is our Adzan, and maybe the one i don't really like is the composer of this song. chosing this adzan means that they know that this is sacred for us. But if they know because of this news, i respected them if they changed it, or i become hate them if they still continue this without any positive explanation...
Cz i still respect other people who had different believes...

life is full of choices btw..

Who cares? It is for japanese viewers only. Japanese people respect their own language so much almost none of them try to learn other language beside english.

As long as it sounds good, the content can go eat shit as long as it is not japanese nor english. The viewers dont understand the content anyway.

Try to buy the CD, then complaint to the composer/producer. They might listen to you.

Pretty cool song. A little retro and gimmicky, but I can see the appeal. Not too sure what they're complaining about when the original song wasn't exactly great anyway; it was no Saleel Sawarim, and even that made for fun remixes.
Now you're wondering if there's white text in any of my other posts.

Over there, I'm everywhere. I know that.

Well, that track is a bit racist (whether it was willingly or unwillingly, doesn't matter) Adhan is a very sacred call for us Muslims, and for it to be used as bgm itself is a big thing. I admit I am not the best Muslim out there (I consider myself below average) but hey, that track is... Mixing Adhan with music is rude, and I can see why so many people are mad about it. They could use any arabic song in place of it, I mean, but nope. Heck, if they used it straight as it is (without mixing) even then it wouldn't have been so bad. Bad move on studio's part.

Well, I won't stop watching anime just because of this, but yeah, this is offensive. I just hope the fellow Muslims don't take it too far... Don't want it to turn it too dirty.

P.S. I am not as offended because this isn't the first time this has happened. Besides, most of those fellows don't even pay for this anime (including me) Using the "remove the bgm or I'll stop watching the anime" threat just doesn't work. There has to be another way.

Also, the majority of replies in this thread is disgusting. I thought the world was more mature than this, but no, I guess.

If muslims don't like it then don't watch it. Why should we ban something just because some groups hate it ? We don't ban Christian stuff in anime just because some christian don't like it, and we don't ban girls with panties and boobs just because feminists don't like it. Don't watch it if you don't like it.

Sounds like they were impressed by Islam

Jokes aside, I thought this sounded something like the azaan when I heard it in the anime, but then I thought that maybe I'm hearing things. This is the first time I've heard something like this – combining the azaan with music, and by a non-Muslim at that.

I'm pretty sure they didn't know that it would offend some people. But then again, we Muslims are very sensitive in this regard (including me). I dunno, I think they should, at the very least, apologize if they hurt someone's feelings, if this thing has been brought into their notice that is.

I don't listen to anime soundtracks anyway so I won't be listening to this, except if it comes in the anime again, in which case it would be a bit unavoidable

People need to assume both POVs before starting to diss one another.
That aside as a muslim I understand the complaints but I don't like the aggressiveness "This is what happens when people believe everything is a conspiracy" Just don't watch it or ignore it or whatever. Anyway the reason this happens is because the show has muslim fans who don't like the disrespect of their religion. Since I didn't watch the show I didn't care well till it became too viral and I had to satisfy my need to comment on it. Also I do know it's not intentional or whatever and certainly they didn't want to stir any controversy , but you would think with the current information age people would do more researches on what they do.

I don't think they should have. It was never intended to have a worldwide audience. They don't need to concern themselves with other religions other than Buddhism which is the main religion in East Asian countries.

You have to understand that the middle east "muslims and christians and whatsoever" have been fed hate to the west and the whole world via showing stuff from fox news and whatsoever and have been fed convenient lies and truths and that they believe that the whole world is conspiring on them and hates them. That's why they are so aggressive and sensitive.

ISIS themselvs are cheating with Islam..they are killing innocent women, children even muslims...but they are hardly doing any harm to USA who created ISIS themselves.Plus have lead many muslim counries to chaos and brink of extinction..JAPAN clearly is not ISIS's target..AS for Noragami its clearly goes against the belief of Islam..we have got only one god "Allah".. But it doesn't bother me at all..cause its just an anime.I am not watching PORN..finally all the muslims here should accept the fact that watching anime itself is a sin..no living creature is allowed to be drawn in islam and those shouldn't be watched..BUT I AM WATCHING THEM ANYWAYS..i guess praying prayers 5 times a day, skipping anime at ramadan(at day time) is the key for me..and of coure avoiding romance in practical life though i prefer to watch romance animes.

Well they are not removing the song anyway.
Watch the show or leave it.

Let me try to reiterate , haram ? Maybe I myself don't know "I believe it's not" . Is it insulting ? No.
So either watch it or leave it. I think it was wrong though to do so to spark a controversy because muslims are sensitive and the whole arab world "christians or muslims" believe that the world is conspiring against them "this is what happens at corrupt nations anyway".

P.S: I don't have anything against the show itself.

First of all I just want to say that ISIS do NOT represent 2 billion human beings, just because someone said that they r doing something in the name of islam or Allah (god) doesn't mean that they r right and it's what all Muslims r like.. But this is another topic. As for this one besides the fact that this soundtrack is offensive and disrespectful, do you actually know what its saying? It's very similar to what a person say when s/he enters Islam,so non-Muslim people should be the ones complaining about making such "music" :P.. Also from a musical point of view was the creator/director of this soundtrack like "u know what.. I want something that represents gods" *googling it* "oh found something" and then he added music and remixed it and whatsoever!? I mean come on, be original and creative... And finally I don't know how it works with others but if someone insults/disrespects something or someone I love and care about I wouldn't just stand there watching, its only natural to defend what you love SO please try to at least debate in a logical and polite manner.. :)

in Islam, the call to prayer (adzan) should not be sung. This is not sinful, but abhorred in Islam. But when the meaning of it become different and false then it become sinful.

Well they removed now all the OST's related to Noragami Aragoto. I bet it was just because of the Muslim drama, because the Fairy Tail OST 5 is still up in youtube after 6months (it's from the same publisher so I bet it's nothing to do with copyrights).

It's kinda sad to see things like that to happen in modern day but what we can do about it.. I guess nothing.

I'm a muslim. I think the OST is nice, it doesn't change the meaning of the Adhan, it does not make fun of the Adhan.... the only thing that's different is the rhythm. Overall, I think it's really fine! :-)
