No clue which groups have picked it up, and I guess it will be a while till the first episode (airing in a few days) will get subbed.

Yuurisan-subs said they'll be picking it up.

m33w will probably sub this show since this is the kind of stuff they sub. If they do happen to sub it, I would suggest watching theirs. Their subs beat yuurisan and everyone else by far.

Apparently it's also going to be simulcast on Crunchyroll. I can't speak for the quality of Crunchyroll's subtitles, but I've heard anything from "good" to "meh" to "absolutely awful".

Who cares about their subs, the fact it's streamed is enough to avoid it.

Crunchyroll's subs for this are actually pretty good. (Though no translation/karaoke for the opening or ending.) Will anyone else bother to sub it if Crunchyroll is doing it?

SHiN-gx will be subbing it or at least says so at their site.

But they also said they will be:

1. Ridiculously slow with their releases
2. Won't sub using honorifics
3. Will try to Anglicise the Japanese dialogue

So I'm hoping another subber wants to pick this up.

I watched the release from Koharubi. Was good I thought, better than the crunchy one.

I have CrunchyMux. Don't know if it's a difference from Crunchyroll subs but doesn't matter cause the subs were fine.

Yep, there was absolutely nothing wrong with Koharubi. Very solid and no mistakes. I'll stick with them.

I think I found some mistakes, actually.

I've seen both the Crunchyroll version and the Koharubi versions. There were pros and cons for each. I said this earlier in a club, so I'll just repost my findings.

---

Crunchyroll:

- romanisation of names (they put the first name first)
- some contextual translations instead of literal ones (minor; they call Kyouko lady-like and older sisterly, but they translate it as "princess-like" but that's all right, it works)

+ honorifics retained
+ pretty solid translation; it is kept as close to the direct dialogue as possible
+ no spelling or grammatical errors as far as I have seen

Koharubi:

- some grammatical errors
- inconsistent subbing; sometimes they leave out certain things like honorifics and then they keep it (perhaps a quality control issue?)
- awkward translations into English at points

+ more attractive font
+ does karaoke for OP song
+ translates certain scenes with more natural phrasing (for example, the phone conversation between Ah-chan's and Fumi's mothers)

+/- less literal than Crunchyroll sub --> this could be a good or bad thing depending on what you like. CR's translation of "Gokigenyou" put it into context of how refined Kyouko is supposed to be, though Koharubi's translation of is closer to the actual usage of the phrase, however the impact and significance is softened.

Also, each sub has at least one issue for the characters' names. Crunchyroll has some "funny stuff" going on with the name of one of the characters--it seems pretty archaic, like something you'd find from an old English sub but it is correct, don't get me wrong. Koharubi however translates Ah-chan's name as "Aa-chan." It looks weird, but that's the only problem there. Neither of those are "problems" (or errors for that matter) just things to nitpick at.

---

Overall, since both subs end up scoring the same, just go with whichever you prefer.

I also tried out Koharubi and CR and in my opinion the Crunchyroll Subs are the better ones here.

In the first scene they even translated Fumi's name plate and one translation in the Koharubi Sub didn't make sense at all. I don't really care about karaoke, therefore I will stick with CR.

Though of course both are ok. Only minor issues.

Aww now a Koharubi's fanboy will rant at you, Forever. It happened to me (I said the same things).
Btw I watched Yuurisan's today. I think they are the most accurate.

Hmm, I found a few issues with them actually. While the subs were a little more visually appealing, and they got the majority of the translation across, I think they could have done a little better with transliteration or QC.

Their translator seemed to have trouble with pronouns, and the editor probably could have made the script a little more fluid.

I'm also not a fan of reversal of name order. I seem to have trouble remembering characters' names when they do that! >_<

Hopefully a more reputable subber will pick this one up.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful -- I appreciate anyone subbing it-- it's just a few little tweaks could make it a much better quality sub.

Edit: I found the end scene with the 'congratulations on your marriage' cake to be particularly awkward. And if my Japanese isn't mistaking me, the sentence "The next time you come by, my husband will be here," should be: "The next time you stop by, bring your husband." Anyone agree/disagree?

Weird, I'm usually really picky about subs. I must've been sleepy or something. But hell will freeze over before I check out any crunchyroll subs.

What's with the hate for the subbing that Crunchyroll does? In my case, hell will freeze over before I go near the site itself, but the subs themselves are quite good, especially if karaoke isn't your thing(also my case), and it's not like there aren't groups who dump Crunchy's subs onto HD raws.

I'm enjoying my snow cones in hell, since CrunchyMux surprisingly does good work on Shugo Chara, Kanamemo and for Aoi Hana. Perhaps they have different people working on different anime, but I haven't found anything wrong with their subs up to now.

Hmm, seems as though Koharubi have really cleaned up on their subbing performance after the first episode. And much to my pleasure, they've even reverted to traditional Japanese name order.

QC'er has really managed to get their stuff together.

Ep01 was generally terrible, we were in a hurry and didn't really had time to fix things properly, there will be a v2 on the batch.

From ep 3 onwards I said I want to watch every episode before releasing, so the errors are kept to minimum, since I read the manga. Unfortunately, I let one critical line slip on ep 04, but it will be fixed xD

18:02 "Let's pretend I(instead of 'you') didn't hear that"

Edit - bleh, bbtags are not working properly =x
