When there's a Mushishi vs. Mushishi Ginko always comes out on top! Ok, that's not exactly how it went but still he sure proved he had some mushi skills once again.

I really thought that she would become the love interest for Ginko. Am I the only one hoping for a romantic scene from this Anime? Lol.

^ Be the only one man... No romantic scenes... Say... the only romantic linl I felt so far is the one he mt with the Writer girl... anyone else is extra... this Mushishi girl was stupid since the beginning, and since Ginko loves intelligent girls...

It was a nice episode... Showed us how dependent we are of fire... Man... that girl made a reckless move for sure... she shouldn't have tried that since the beginning and so as Ginko deducted later, attacking fire with fire? Plant from a volcanic rock... Ouch... Poor girl....

Loved the "fireballs".... Made me remember the good old days when I heard ghost stories on the Radio XD... The so called witches XD... Loved this take of the supernatural event XD

I say that the one with the black cursed Mushishi on her leg, a few episodes back was hinted in my opinion to be the 'one' for him. It was sweet the way they interacted and how she said she wanted to travel with him:)

Anyway this episode was nice, kind of get scared of these stories and start believing them for a little bit. I loved the music this time around too<3 I DON'T WANT IT TO ENDDDD

Pretty sure they said that there was a Mushi inside the Kagebi, acting as its heart or something like that. Not sure what a Kagebi is suppose to be but I suppose that is what everyone could see, not the Mushi.

Another interesting ep.

Ginko sure has the deductive skills of a genius just like some previous episodes esp. in ep 23.

I thought this ep was hinting again another bit of romance but the woman is just stubborn to listen to Ginko. :/

Anyway, the "punishment" really taught her a lesson though.

Also wondering, the mushis containing mushis can be seen as well by normal persons

and seems like the village don't have many mushis around because the woman didn't smoke like Ginko. I hope I'm right.

Cold fire, uh? It surely doesn’t sound like something you want to be close to, seeing as it will freeze you and consume your body heat to death.

Ginko showed once again how acting without thinking twice because panic ensues is not the best when you need to solve a situation. He knows how to maintain himself cool, despite danger or trouble. I’ve always thought the same and I’ll keep thinking so: Ginko’s truly admirable; he’s one of a kind. He always comes up with a solution for everyone.

Only two more episodes left. Aw, I don’t want Mushishi to end. It’s too great.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

Not the best episode of the series, but I loved the art in this one. The autumn scenery looked great, appropriate since autumn is starting now.

Getting sad since there's only two more episodes left. Such a unique anime.

LOL

Yeah she wasn't thinking too much. Ginko swoops in to save the day, even though the villagers are all massive pricks for beating him up and locking him in a shed.

Also, apparently Ginko is an expert mushi pin marksman. I'm surprised nobody else mentioned this. badass.

Have to agree, though it was still relatively enjoyable.

That other mushishi just traded one problem for another when they burned the village... Definitely not my place to judge which was the easier to handle, but fires that freeze - that's pretty eerie. Interesting since it's a bit paradoxical...

I really didn’t like Genko in this episode. The village was in a state of crisis and Genko was preaching that they should wait. Unfortunately there was very little time to gather information to inform your decision and that time was up when Genko arrived. Following Genko’s advice would have resulted in the abandonment of the village and possible the deaths of many of its people due to starvation and exposure to the elements. There comes a time when a person has to make a decision with incomplete information and there are also a time where making no decision is worse than making a poor one. The village mushi master knew this and was forced to make an impossible decision and I applaud her decisiveness.

A few things people should remember:
1. The real solution to the problem only came about because of the data gathered from burning the mountain
2. Seven deaths are good considering the entire village was facing starvation.
3. The weed was not going to stop unless someone stopped it so waiting would have caused even more destruction and even more mushi to deal with.
4. It is unknowable if further research would have provided a solution to the problem anytime soon because it took Genko months of thinking to come up with a solution.

I like how we get to see Ginko versus another mushishi and how they approach things. Good thing in the end he helped her out so that she won't have to die and leave the village. He's really smart for figuring out how to deal with the growing weed inside the lady's stomach. He really is the best mushishi around :)

pretty nice episode. The werid thing is it seems the only way to destroy the weeds was with the adult form of it but the only way to get that was to burn the weeds thus getting rid of the weeds. Unless you got some adult form laying around it seems your screwed. Nice to see the lady didint die.

interesting mushi, a fire that also freezes.
i felt a little mushishi battle during this episode and as always, ginko was right.
i bet it hurt a lot to have her gut burn to get rid of the kagebi, but in the end it saved her village.

there is always the underlying message of 'be careful' but no one ever takes heed of it until something bad happens
"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."
