| I still don't quite get how his father is father to BOTH of them. They are just about the same age. Sure, it is perfectly possible to have an affair and get two women pregnant around the same time, but that doesn't really jive with the whole abandoning Niki part. His mother and grandmother really need to do some explaining! Especially since they seem to know about Niki already. I hope they tell him that she was his adopted daughter from his second marriage or something like that... They certainly don't look at all alike... Of course, that doesn't change the fact that Niki has a deep seated hatred for the boy who stole her father away... But I think she needs him... So sad... especially sad that we have to wait for the next chapter! |

| Holy crap this was an intense chapter; literally gave me goosebumps by the end of it. Hotaka finally finding out the truth that him and Niki are siblings and hearing Niki say she hates him and wishes he died was heartbreaking. ;~; Both of them were crying at the end, man... On to the rescure? |

Her mother stole Hotaka's father away from his mother. Remember back to the scene at the festival where Niki remembers that her father left her to see Hotaka because he was sick in the hospital. That was probably the moment where Hotaka's father decided to go back to Hotaka's mother and leave Niki. Seriously none of this hard to believe or explain and is rather standard soap opera fair. I think people don't want to believe that they are related. That ship has sailed. More to the point - Niki has already explained her hatred for Hotaka is because he was the one who stole her father from her. Which means, it doesn't matter if they are not related, she hates him over that fact. So it's unlikely they end up together, ass-pull ending aside. |
| I pretty much agree with everything ^ he said except for them unlikely being together. Yes I believe they are related but i do believe they need each other. I believe the part where the two are crying in the end shows that not all feelings are lost. Especially not for the guy since it still seems like he loved her still very much and believes it's all his fault. It's not like I want an incest scenario but..... IDK. I'm thinking of school days and yosuga no sora now that I'm thinking back on what I've just read..... On a side note..... i just read all 20 chapters out so far and i have to say.. this manga is pretty good but I've literally predicted 95% of the things that happened pretty easily. The only thing i can't predict is what the ending is gonna be. Otherwise... good manga. |

I totally don't buy Hotaka's mom taking him back! If she had taken him back, she wouldn't have been on such bad terms with his family after his death. And I still think that there is something strange going on with Hotaka's family due to the "I lost my father twice" thing. See the beginning of chapter 5 (Like that, I lost the person who I could have called "Father" for the second time) and near the end of chapter 6 (The first one died from illness. The second one... when he paid for the bad things he did during his life.) These are both quotes from Hotaka's writing. This totally suggests that he had two DIFFERENT people whom he called "Father". The first one suffered from the same heart condition that Hotaka had to have surgery for and died. The 2nd, I think, is Niki's father. (I think he is also Hotaka's uncle, making them cousins, but that is my own gut instinct, not based on anything solid. I think his uncle abandoned Niki and her mother after his brother died and married his brother's widow.) But not many people seem to agree with me that Hotaka's writings suggest that his biological father is not that person who abandoned Niki... |

| I read somewhere this will end in chapter 23? Man, I wonder what kind of ending it would be.... the conflict is not one that can be resolved in matter of 3 chapters, IMO... |

Someone posted a raw from chapter 22, and apparently it said at the end that the story will "end in the next chapter". I'm not sure if I can post the said page here though.... |
