| Aside from scenes with cgi this is basically a motion comic. I think I figured it out based on what someone in another thread mentioned. The idea for this show comes from Hattori Kiriko figures, so it only exists to promote figures. Unlike shows that are bankrolled by companies in order to sell trading card games and video games, this show was most likely bankrolled by the company that makes the figures, who would understandably have less money to throw around than others would. Therefore, the show was given very, very little money to work with and it's easy to assume that a fair bit of the budget went to A.C.G.T in order to pay for the CGI. There simply wasn't any money left over, so the show has to rely on mostly still frames with little more than mouth flaps and twitching. They also frequently just drag the character artwork over the background instead of animating anything. The budget also seems to have affected the music, which is mostly performed by a solitary musician who seems to be noodling around in the background. The biggest problem with all of this is that it will be hard to encourage people to buy the figures when the show has such a tiny budget which will most likely result in extremely low viewership and even lower BD sales. Thankfully though, paying voice actors isn't super expensive, so they were still able to hire some of the best VAs in the business. If something has Yukari Tamura playing an aggressive character, Miyuki Sawashiro playing a villain and Ayako Kawasumi doing something similar to her Saber schtick, I'll watch it just for them. |

I was disappointed last week because I had better expectations out of JC Staff, but now that I know what to expect, it's a bit more enjoyable. Still horrible, though. I mean, surely they could've come up with something other than the virgin thing and the fox being a virgin at 250 years just seems like a bloody stupid way to create a rivalry between her and Kiriko. |

| I'm the opposite, I kinda enjoyed the 1st episode and with the 2nd have decided to drop it. One ecchi mecha anime a season is enough, I think, and Daimidaler is superior to this crap in every way except mecha design. |
