Sakuishi Harold's manga "Beck" was announced to get a live action movie adaptation. Tsutsumi Yukihiko (live action movie of "20th Century Boys") directs the movie. It will be premiered in the autumn of 2010.

The main character of the movie is Ryuusuke, not Koyuki (Tanaka Yukio), who was the main of manga.

Cast
Minami Ryusuke: Mizushima Hiro (official website)
Tanaka Yukio: Sato Takeru (official blog)
Chiba Tsunemi: Kiritani Kenta (profile)
Sakurai Yuji: Nakamura Aoi (official blog)
Taira Yoshiyuki: Mukai Osamu (official blog)

"Beck": Hell yeah!
"Beck" live action: I'm not too sure about. Maybe it could work out to be decent at least, since "Beck" is a realistic anime anyway.

They better not screw this up. But then again, I don't think they will.
I'm looking forward to this.

Hiro Mizushima and Takeru Satoh playing off of each other again? Why not. Plus, Hiro playing Minami is just awesome casting.

I just had a heart attack of JOY! Great casting choices (Though Takeru isn't a superb singer) and I am so excited! =D

It's so awesome to see my fave manga series get a movie treatment with an adorable cast. I mean, so many fangirl bells are going off in my head! I love Sato Takeru, both he and Mizushima Hiro were Kamen Riders, Beck is AWESOME and my fave manga...

I might just die when I see the movie.

This might be the first time that the seeing the words manga and live action in the same sentence doesn't make me want to cry. Like Xplicit said, due to the realistic nature of the anime/manga, I see no reason a live action wouldn't work.

I have never seen any of those actors before, so I can't comment on their acting or singing ability, but purely based on looks, they seem to fit the characters pretty well. That guy playing Chiba better get himself an afro though.

I'm definitely looking forward to it, so hopefully it turns out good.

Takeru is an okay singer, but maybe not anyone that would make the Dying Breed go "HOSHIT!"

Mizushima Hiro speaks fluent English and is a great actor, so I think they got the most spot on casting there.

The guy playing Chiba looks just like Chiba when he has a mustache. Though I too expect an afro or there will be hell to pay.

I love BECK a lot so I hope this turns out great!!

Only actor I don't know is Nakamura Aoi. But yay for Mukai Osamu as Taira <3 & wow Mizushima Hiro and Sato Takeru together again?

I remember his part in Ryuusei no Kizuna. I think he could do well. xD

DID SOMEONE SAY WIN? YES. I FUCKING SAID WIN.

I'm a fanboy, shoot me. I love seeing those two work off one another though.

This could be great. Beck practically begs for a live-action adaption.

Satoh is a bit old, he is a good actor, but Koyuki was 14 I believe.

Hiro as Ray though, that works.

Otherwise, one of the few that could be really good live action.

I'm excited that they're making a BECK live action, but the cast... they better work some movie magic. ^_^'

But anyways, I absolutely loved the series and am going to read the manga (when I find the time). I'm absolutely going to watch this movie, but there's a lot of material to put in a 1.5-2 hours movie... I guess we'll wait and see.

Yes! The cast is awesome. Although Sato Takeru isn't the best singer in the world at least he will make up for it with effort and acting.
They've all proven good actors in various doramas and movies :D

They could have made a second season of the anime, but then again this seems cool...and it might be pretty good since 20 th century boys movie is good even though it's a bit supernatural.

'Beck' is one of the few anime that comes to mind when I think of series that, on paper, shouldn't be too hard to adapt to live action. I'll actually turn my sceptic radar off for once and give this a chance.
Your search on "Oran Solus" returned the following quotes:
"Oran Solus? I know him. What a wanker. He still owes me a tenner." Oscar Wilde
"Oran, you're so intelligent and awesome <3" Bakayaro
"Oran's sexy." LolitaDecay
"Oran is a sophisticated penguin." Drybananna
"Oran is a Hand-Eye you faggots." EddieSpaghetti
"Oran for Prime Minister." the_prime_one
"Oran is all that is stated in his sig and more." orbitzz

Meh, it won't be the same without Koyuki as the main character... The fact that the live action is based around Ryusuke and we don't know who's playing Maho makes me worry that they'll cut a ton out. I think I might've preferred a second season of the anime...

I'll watch it though, it'd better be good.

BECK cast appeared on Japanese TV this morning.
I've capped them from a .flv video, so it's not great quality, but you can atleast compare them to their characters.
Reference (from top left): Mizushima Hiro, Sato Takeru, Mukai Osamu, Nakamura Aoi and Kiritani Kenta.

Big pic under;

I reckon it will be good no matter what you guys say, I am not picky with movies and I am easily impressed..so even if the ratings are poor I will still enjoy it.
