THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
It already begun. I can't wait to see the real motive of real murder. The man with the mask make me think in the episode 33(old serie) where we see Takato with a whithe mask. We know almost nothing now, there will be a 4 or 5 court for this case?

Ichiyou-sensei looked so suspicious I immediately knew he was the puppeteer from hell, Youichi.

I wonder what did Kaidou mean by "partners in crime" and "6 becoming 5"..

2 down is one episode! Youichi is quite formidable.
Kirisawa could be next..

Good episode. Not sure what's the motive behind the murders though yet.
-- "Who killed Cock Robin?" "I, said the Sparrow..." Nice riddle!

Damn, that Akao sensei has suspicious written all over him.

Some of the scenes in the forest were pretty intimidating this episode. I think there were some cryptic clues dropped in this episode. Still, no one suspected the teacher yet with the mask on?!

I like how this arc is playing out, with the puppeteer pulling the strings. He's not actively participating in the murders, so I wouldn't doubt if he gets away. But who thought a prisonlike camp was a good idea, and why is it still held after a murder within the school has occurred? The 5/6 who still participated must have had death wishes.

You know this part basically has a lot of potholes as big as moon craters, I can't understand as to why would a prep school hire a teacher wearing a mask and not verify if he really is burn, second why would such prep school whose standard is like being in a Nazi death camp even exist, third, why would the police even allow the prep school to continue on with its out of town trip knowing that another murder might happened?

You missed the part in the beginning when Inspector Akechi said that he will do anything to be part of the retreat. For one thing, they know that the real mastermind is Takato Yoichi the puppeteer. He's a longtime nemesis of Kindaichi as well as a police target (since he escaped from prison). They also know how he works and is familiar with his methods. If the camp doesn't proceed, he'll just find another way to continue the murders. The police allowed the camp to continue because they want to lure Takato out. In the previous cases that involved him, he was almost always nearby disguised as one of the people involved while giving directions to the real murderer.

As for the masked teacher, Takato is a master of disguise. Even if they had asked him to show his face, Takato could easily fool the head master with a special effect make-up for example (not like the headmaster even knows Takato's face in the first place).

Japanese education is well-known to be brutal. Obviously the prep school in this anime is being exaggerated a lot but I won't be surprised if there are actual prep schools who are really strict with their students.

And for any of you detective wannabes who doesn't mind a little help (and maybe a little spoiler)

Another super cool ep, with damn amazing soundtrack, it gave a really chilly feeling.

Few observations I made this ep, first they are asked to put aside their belongings, seems suspicious. Second, the guy in the solitary, there are limits to being tensed, he surely knows sth extra. Third, ujie sensei is late, sth which shouldn't happen, he took extra time for some or the other things, his voice was also bit broken. The one who died was probably bullied by the six member team, probably bullied him, forced him into sth which lead to his death. The guy who threw the dinner was also strange, highly possible that the dinner was poisoned, and the tea had antidote, hence everyone survived, and the only one who died was Enami, at least the theory explains her untimely death. The chalk guy's death has got me baffled. He was picked on random, in other words, there was no way that he had to be selected, in short, a random murder? Unless the teach himself is involved in this trick. Also his death was likely caused by some poison needle, so either someone shot him from behind, or a dart was already set at the position, and using some kind of trick the culprit knew when he is gonna reach the place.

Considering how everything is happening, one of the teacher got to be involved.
Since Takato doesn't get this own hands dirty and Akechi is not the culprit, it got to be one of the other two.

Also the head instructor is the one who instructed the first victim to get the chalk, so if he put a poisoned needle in it, it would make sense. Though it wouldn't explain how the body went missing.

I mean the mask has to be Takato Yoichi. Also, kinda seems fucked to lock that one student in a room.
