According to the Garo Project Official Blog, the midnight tokusatsu show "Garo" will be receiving a TV anime series. More information will be announced at later time. Garo is a tokusatsu show that "focuses on the life of Kouga Saejima, who has assumed the title of Makai Knight to protect humanity against dark demonic manifestations called 'Horrors.' In his quest to purge them, he encounters a young girl named Kaoru whom he saves from a Horror, but learns that she is stained with its demonic blood. As a rule, those that have been stained by the blood of a Horror shall be cut down, or else they will die painfully in approximately 100 days. Kouga spares Kaoru and tries to find a way to purify her before her remaining time expires. Thus, the series focuses on Kouga's developing relationship with Kaoru and his stand in protecting humanity in accordance with the wishes of his father, the previous Garo. In the process, encountering another Makai Knight named Rei Suzumura who eventually becomes his ally, Kouga confronts his father's former disciple who is also the cause of a recent string of Horror attacks in preparation of a more sinister advent of the Horrors' originator, Messiah." (Source: Wikipedia) Tokusatsu, which translates as "special filming," is a Japanese live-action genre that uses special effects. Examples of tokusatsu are hero shows that air in the mornings like Kamen Riders, Super Sentais, Ultraman (TV series usually targeted at kids), and Godzilla (films). (More information on Wikipedia.) Sounds awesome, Samurai Flamenco has been likened to Tokusatsu shows so I'm optimistic that I'll enjoy this one too. |
I probably regret this post by now. |

I don't know if they are going to keep the same suits. zellami said: For adults, what is that even supposed to mean? Will watch only if it proves to be for adults ^^ I guess you could say Garo punches a bit above it's weight for a tokusatsu and it may be a bit adult themed, but if you're looking for something more along the lines of pseudo-intellectuality then it's definately not for you. You might wanna check out the toku itself, it's one of the few shows where the actors actually have to do a bit of stunt work. |

They also have the most seeders and good trackers. There are just no equivalent. Highly suggested for anyone who wants to get into tokusatsu. |

Re: Houndtwo It means if it's something like Tentai Senhi Sunred or Samurai Flamenco. Or Chassern Sins. Something like very much those pseudo-intellectual anime. Usually, I check all anime b/w 0-3 episodes, me writing here means I hope to be something I will enjoy. If I don't care, I won't even bother. Anyway, if they pick to animate a tokusatsu, I wish to be good and wish to be different in a good way. That's all. |

Hmm not sure about that but it looked okay, but the synopsis kinda spoiled the first few episodes I think? Will give it a try when it airs, hope that it'll be at least decent. |

It is a very popular tokusatsu franchise watched more by teenagers and adults than kids. It is having a live-action movie coming and the 4th season of the show is coming too. A tokusatsu show getting animated is quite rare so it is quite significant news. |
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

symbv said: It is a very popular tokusatsu franchise watched more by teenagers and adults than kids. This is a late-night tokusatsu so kids can't really watch it without recording. Also, there is nudity and gore to some extent. I used to joke about how every season the first episode must show tits and the last boss is always a giant nude lady. |

^ Precisely, to be honest, even the tokusatsu show aired in daytime is watched more and more by adults (in fact by women because of those ikemen). The notion that tokusatsu show must be kids show is so outdated these days. |
