| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That was a pretty intense beginning tbh. Just seeing Chamber there was nostalgic. I thought the episode was decent overall, much more intense than the first episode. It definitely feels a bit more different but the style of season 1 kinda hit me here. Ledo didn't get much screen time though. The ending was dramatic as well with Striker. Can't wait for sequel! |

| Very significant episode. Unlike the last unaired episode which though drills into the relationship between various characters (particularly Amy and Ledo) and the history of Legit, this one is a full-blown coverage of what happened to Kugel after the space battle and.. |
| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

| Another week and it'll be a month since it is released. Hope English subs can come out soon. I can read Chinese but I would rather wait for the English subs then struggle to read the Chinese subs and understand their terminology. English subs out edit: I liked this episode of the OVA more than the first one. While the first one was a slice-of-life, this one expanded more on Commander Kugel. We barely know Kugel as his real personality was only shown for a brief moment in episode one, as the other time we see him he was already dead. Now, we can see that his death is caused by tuberculosis and he started the cruel regime on the new fleet because of Striker's manipulation of Linaria. I feel so sorry for Kugel and it shows how machines, despite how intelligent and powerful hey can be in the future still has the inability to adapt to new ideals. 3 for first episode, 4 for this episode. 7/10 overall for the specials. |

| didn't expected this one but it's nice that they showed us what really happened to Kugel. How he landed earth and how he became a God to those people.. especially the sacrifices. But damn! I want to see more of this series :'( |
| This was amazing as an OVA 10/10 I thought they would continue where they would left from last special The beginning was like the first episode a space battle with the Hidaeuze, but this time following Klugel's story when he entered earth He ruled with terror and showed a soft side when Lineria passed away That Striker bot is really manipulative |

| Wow this was a great episode! I didn't think that Kugel was actually at first, different in his ideals. I like how he argued with Striker when they were talking about the weakened people on the fleet, that he said since they were not in the Alliance anymore, their rules shouldn't apply here. But then....Striker brainwashed Krugel after Linaria's death that what Linaria said didn't contradict their society's values. Honestly that was shocking how he just put Linaria's (and her sister's) dead body on a boat and then slid it down into the sea. No wonder everyone immediately listened to Krugel. And yeah, compared to Ledo, Krugel had it rough with the fight between the Linaria and her sisters. Ame_Tenshi said: As they say, сorruptio optimi pessima. | Interesting I was not expecting a story on the commander, but it was very well done. I don't think Linaria meant for him to take her words litterally, but Striker convinced him otherwise. |

| This OVA should be included in the main series. So Kugel started out good, but became evil when the girl died (with the help of Striker's cold logic.) LOL the Hideauze were no match for him. How could he use his beam weapons underwater though? I remember Ledo and Chamber using an Anchor weapon because the beam dissipates underwater. Imagine that this could also happen to Ledo if he and Kugel switch circumstances. |
| This episode was awesome! I feel sorry for Kugel, he was unlucky to meet pirates first as he arrived to Earth. All he saw was the same cruel system they have in space and thus did not change his militaristic ways like Ledo did. Things could have turned out much differently for Kugel if he had met nice people like the Gargantia fleet. |
| Nothing particularly amazing. Perhaps he should've explored a bit before settling down with that fleet... |

| Finally, we see how Kugel became the "God" of that fleet. That was really interesting. It is pretty sad to see how the death of the girl made Kugel change so much. |

| Much better than the previous OVA. And I agree with those saying that this would have been an excellent addition to the series, it would have given much needed backstory to Kugel&Striker. Anyone know how Gargantia did saleswise? There's a lot of potential for a second season (Alliance or Hideauze returning to Earth) if the writers focus on the serious stuff instead of going for slice of life on convoy route. |

| The scene where Kugel took dying priestess to show her the fleet was breathtaking. Very good episode. Better than previous one (though his ending motivation and overtaking of fleet could have been done better) |

| I don't know why so many people are saying this should have been main series. The series was about Ledo, not Kugel. The important pieces were explained in the main series, that Kugel also landed on this planet and managed to gain complete control of a fleet. |

| I think we can assume that the leaders of the cult were the two surviving sisters, or rather the figureheads since it was the AI that was calling the shots. Just goes to show that you should never listen to a young virgin with religious mania... |

| I actually thought that Kugel might have been good till his death, but it looks like he turned "evil" even before that :/ Anyway, it was a pretty good special, it explained some things that the show left unanswered. |
