THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

It's like Baywatch crossed with James Bond crossed with Boardwalk Empire or something. Does this have to make sense?

Can't blame 'em for this one, but the opening sequence with the plane sailing through the Manhattan skyline, WTC visible, then into a building made me squirm a bit.

The episode itself seemed painfully average. Didn't like the character design nor budget level animation either. Needless to say I didn't get very far through it.

Oh, for Heaven's sake, people like you are the ones who give Americans a bad name. I guess we are lucky you didn't get to the second episode, or you would also be bitching about how the space shuttle exploding was "offensive" due to the Challenger disaster. This is why we cannot have good things in America entertainment now: everything has to be politically correct so people don't be "offended". I wouldn't be surprised if people like you campaigned for a law that banned any plane crashing in a building or a shuttle exploding so people wouldn't get "offended". The one who said that political correctness turned Americans into easily offended wimps and cowards couldn't be more right.

That sure had blazing fast pacing. I was not expecting this particular storyline to wrap up so quickly.

I wonder if any of those antagonists who appeared will show up again in the next two episodes with this short series seemingly being episodic.

Anime did 9/11 before it was cool lmao

Put out an oil fire with an atomic bomb lmao
'Thanks President Bush'
I'm shocked they actually referenced the sitting president at the time

Gloriously over the top, the way any good 1980s anime should be.

I actually thought the art and animation were fine, and I also like Cleo herself. What I didn't like was how sloppy and stupid the writing/story was. Sure you could say that an anime like this "doesn't have to make sense", but this was lacking something that makes other shlocky action animes like Dirty Pair fun.

I didn't it how quick the dude catches up to her after she gets far way from him using that propulsor or whatever you wanna call it at the last act, but other than that it was a decent episode for an obscure 80s OVA.

All the T&A was also welcomed lol.

The story is fairly simple, an OP blonde multi-billionair doing 007 stuff. The character designs ... gorgeous. They just don't make animation details like this anymore.
