The battles were pretty decent I guess.

The boss they're fighting seems to pretty damn strong. Really liked the OST this episode though but kinda feels like everyone is fighting against fate. I admire Ginka's determination this episode but also felt like there was a big death flag raised on her.

Oh snap, I think it came true ;o

Dem counterpart cards.

Death flag to death battle--three seconds, couldn't they spend at least a minute between Pops raising the flag and Ginka making it come true? I'm beginning to get the feeling that Casey Jones is the engineer on this train....

Wow it's interesting how Ginka was the first one to say that she would run away if she encountered her own card, but then ended up not doing so after talking to her father. Will she be forgotten too? :(

This definitely was a sad episode but was very predictable after the reveal at the beginning. Now maybe everyone will dissapear while coming to terms with themselves with Akari being last? There is a chance that Ginka didn't die and they combined like her clone said. I hope there's another plot twist like that to keep this from becoming predictable.

in my opinion they just have to accept there counterpart.
there counterpart maybe represent there true feelings and angst and they have just to embrace them instead of killing them.

It's always the blonde ones who are the first to go.

Can't say i'm sad or shocked since this show isn't subtle about its death flags, but I did like this character and I feel bad for her pops.

That's an idea. You saying this reminded me of Persona 4 lol. There better be a way for them to destroy their counterpart without them disappearing.

Cerebrum clearly knows things, one of which (pair annihilation) Sephira Fiore has only just discovered. A 1:1 trade isn't advantageous however you look at it - both sides have the same finite number of cards - except as maybe a morale blow for the Elemental deck side. So yeah it's possible it's not entirely a 1:1 trade.

wouldnt be even so far off, since the shadows were the counterparts too.
And persona generally uses the tarot arcana as a base too.

And that is why I love this show. I mean really it is so bad, but at the same time I can't get over just how hard they are trying to make it dark. I can't help but imagine that this show was given to some director and he read the script and thought "this is awful, I'm going to make it insanely dark and stupid and see if they still pay me for it".

In the end it will be Cerebrum vs. Laplace + Schrodinger. Schrodinger wins because the judge can't tell if he's dead or alive.

Ginka died.

Which wasn't much of a surprise because of the death flags.

Next week,is probably gonna be a despair episode.

Then my bet is on Luna next, then Seira and then Akira will face her counterpart card and become one with her,and eventually figure out how to revive/save everyone who died.

Not even entirely sure she died. It looked more like the two counterparts merged. There's still no indication that the person actually ceased to exist.

I'm kinda depressed by how hard it is to defend this show against Madoka comparisons now. By this point it's just too much.

I like Ginka in this episode, but I think she's a bit too cool with this sort of thing for a child. But after what happened with her honorary uncle it's not too surprising.

Didn't like how they rushed right into the encounter with her dark self.

And now we can expect more aaaaaaaaaaaaangst as one by one our heroes are picked apart..

Sigh. 3/5.

So if they encounter their Counter Card that a Daemonia holds, they will also disappear, well I got a little confuse in the beginning but I understand their situation. I kind of cringe a bit when Ginka gets hurt, and all decided to retreat to recover. The sad thing is that Ginka face the Daemonia alone and both vanished.

Well I wasn't expecting Ginka's death, but it was sort of predictable imo in this episode about her. 4/5

Next episode should be interesting after this Counter Card fighting incident like Ginka.

It was pretty sad, but I felt that the episode was kind of rushed. And I really don't think that Ginka's dead - not when her counterpart repeated 'I'm going to combine with you.' for the whole battle.
But why am I getting the feeling that that Cerebrum guy is going to end up being Akari's dad or something? If not that, he's atleast connected to her mom somehow. Which is why Akari's the only one who can understand the daemonia...or maybe not. Just a suggestion.

Jesus Christ, how predictable can one anime be? It wasn't even sad. It felt really forced and needlessly dramatic, like everything else in this series, probably because of more general-mediocreness on all levels. I wouldn't even mind if it was actually enjoyable, but it's mostly not.

They're not, they're just talking about how this show is copying the aspects that MADOKA did. You know, the whole fighting with a spear thing? The suicide? The explosion? Kyouko's death anyone?

The episode itself was just badly done either way.

The thing is that Madoka wasn't all that great in these aspects either. The death flags in Madoka were even more obvious. Not that Madoka was bad but I think people are over-reacting about this series.

This anime has in general been a pretty big disappointment.

They decided to randomly add counterpart cards this episode and immediately leverage it to kill off a character...

The writers have no idea have to develop thematic tension or concept of buildup.

Anti-Temperance was pretty damn persistent about correcting Ginka with regards to "merging" and "eternal life" as opposed to Ginka's idea of blinking out of existence entirely. AT was informed about something by Cerebrum (maybe he lied to her, but I believe this merging/eternal life thing is probably more an important bit of foreshadowing, seeing as Sephiro Fiore is entirely in the dark about how this works. All they know is Lovers vanished in an explosion when she encountered her doppelganger.

Ginka has possibly ascended to the Aeon deck (Elemental and Diabolo being the other two decks that were spawned from Aeon), whatever that might imply. Sounds like in this case it was an advantageous and calculated sacrifice for Cerebrum if he knows what really happened to Lovers and is exploiting that knowledge while Sephiro Fiore group remains clueless and several steps behind.

For whatever it's worth, I vaguely remember it being stated that Aeon deck controls the Tree of Life. This might be a powerplay on his part in a bid to seize control of it by returning the respective decks back to the one from which they split. The final act in the ages old battle of Elemental vs Diabolo. That's my speculation for the week.

It's true. A shame, because this story had the potential to be so much more engaging if the writing wasn't so lackluster. Dunno why I'm so fond of this show in light of the glaring flaws, but I am and I'm unrepentant about it. Maybe it's just that I keep my expectations low and just go along for the ride.

e: Oh hey, so Luna's returning home to her parents' house next week. I'm guessing we'll find out what she's all about and what happened to her sister Serena that she sees so much of in Akari.

Personally it's a bit of a let down hopefully we will see some twists developing latter on.

Ginka's character interests me more.. It was like... She is afraid, but same time she balances herself and accepted her fate... Getting to fight her own counterpart after all.

Now what will happen to the other girls or the other side Tarot characters..
