Anyway... a 23 years old dude with a 16 years old girl seems weird to me anyway. That's... 7 years between them still.
My brother's dating someone 7 years younger than him (27-20) so I don't find it weird.. though I guess Ohana isn't quite legal yet. Even so, if both parties are consenting, it's cool with me.
Don't you know the "half your age plus seven" rule? it's actually a decent standard for the youngest person you can date without it being squicky.
Your brother is within the limit (barely), but 23 on 16 isn't.
as far as i know, that "rule" is mainly for a person of age to determine if dating an underage person is "acceptable."
if the two people involved are legal, the age difference doesn't matter at all as long as the people in the relationship are okay with it. at that point it's nobody's business but their own. plus the idea of two adults using some ~rule~ somebody made up to determine if their relationship is "okay" is hilarious.

if the ohana-tohru relationship was happening irl i'd probably shake my head at it because ohana is so unbelievably immature, but since it's 2d i find it a+. and of course i'm constantly on the lookout for doujin of the porn author guy and ohana!

By Japanese standards their relationship would be perfectly legal. The age of consent in Japan is 13.

I lol'd at Jamaica:

male+male = illegal
female+female = 16

Poor, poor Minchi...first Ohana, now Ohana's mother, thing aren't looking too good for her. Apart from that, a very good episode with a lot of focus on the characters, I eagerly await the next one, although Ohana is getting on my nerves. She really needs to discuss her relationship with Ko, it is for the best for both of them. 5/5.

Ohana's mom really is a strange one. After all that resistence last episode she just goes like that. "You told me you'd be taking me back with you, right? So I took an early holiday." That was full of win xD

Anyway, things between Ohana and Ko are not too good at this point... But seriously, she tells him she recognizes she was kinda mean to him, all this time and his answer is a emotionless "I don't understand but ok" ? I'm starting to agree that the guy is a bit too boring...

The best thing about this episode was Ohana realizing she's not the only important person in the wolrd. It's not that she didn't know but she uncounsciously acted like she didn't. Oh, and poor Minko... the 'date' wasn't as she expected :(

Great episode. Eventually, Ohana will have to come to terms with her feelings and settle things with her past even if she chooses to run away in the meantime. Now I'm starting to feel bad for Minko and her unrequited love for Tohru, as a new, potential opponent has arrived in the form of Ohana's mother. As if competing with Ohana for his attention wasn't bad enough, the odds are beginning to stack against her. Tangled relationship lines and potential love polygons, nice.

Haha, Ohana's mother is really awesome. xD GAWD. Ohana is getting jealous over that Igarashi girl. But I think that girl is right, Ohana must let go of Ko already. She is just making Ko wait. But oh well. Since Ko likes to wait, then so be it. xD

:( Sad episode..

Ugh. I change my ideas soo fast. I'm thinking Tohru x Ohana now.. Ko is awesome. But I don't like how he's changing. He's like careless now. I don't like it at all.
I'm starting to like Tohru. He's considerate. Because of the girl who truly likes Ko, it might end up like thisL:
Ko x That girl (Ko has been waiting too long. Ohana should do something or let their love grow)
Ohana x Tohru, and Minchi will accept it or something.

I agree with most people here who said that the glasses girl kinda pissed them off. Kou clearly rejected her but she still clings to him as if Kou is hers only.

LOL at Minko's and Tohru's date. I kinda feel sorry for Minko for accompanying Tohru =) Also, Minko realized that Tohru might have feelings for Ohana. I wonder how will those three solved this problem...

I had these strange premonition that Ohana's grandma gonna slap Satsuki jus like what she did to Ohana. And I just hope this anime will NOT end up with Tohru x Satsuki... =.='

I've not replied on every episode thread, but man, this Anime has grown on my heart like some kind of weed. I didn't think I'd like it, it caught my interest, and then stole my heart as I feel every moment for each character, it's almost overwhelming.

After realizing her own shortcomings, she decides not to bother Kou-chan and her mother anymore. Ironically, her mother also had a similar epiphany and suddenly agrees to visit Kissuiso. Satsuki is as cheerful as always, however, it isn't difficult to see that there's something much deeper below the surface. I especially loved Satsuki's dialogue with Tooru (it was beautiful in its own way, even relatable, yes) which proves that with some development she could become an amazing character - not an amazing mother, but an amazing character. Perhaps Satsuki herself is still in the process of maturing and settling down; I'm curious to see where her personal journey will take her. In any case, Satsuki has become my favorite character of the show. She's always in the "wrong" but the fact she can talk about herself like that simply amazes me. I also love how she never directly tells Ohana what she thinks and always masks her thoughts with irrelevant chatter. This mother-daughter relationship is going to be awesome. Not to mention the grandma-mom-daughter dynamic.

This sums up my feelings quite nicely, so I won't even try to comment on this myself. However, I do have to say that Satsuki has become my favorite character as well.

Great episode nice to see that her mom did decide to come with them, though the relation between her and ko is kinda sad, I do hope he'll re-appear somewhere in the anime as a comeback if not it was quite a sad ending!

Good episode.
Though it's dragging out the drama between Ohana and Kou. It seems unlikely that a romantic relationship will happen. Which is fine, but Ohana is doing all the wrong things.

Bookstore girl is quite right. Ohana should make up her mind and let Ko be free of doubt (bookstore girl is kinda cute too!).

Ohana's mom probably has as big of a chance with Tohru as anybody. I feel kind of sorry for Minchi here.

I'm happy this miniarc is over. Too much angst with the Ko thing. I enjoy this series much more when they're at Kissuiso and stuff happens there.

Why was I even surprised that Ohana was serious about kidnapping her mom. I lol'd when she busted out that map 😂

Ko actually went along and said he won't be going to Kissuiso. I wonder what's going on in his head. Has he had enough of waiting for Ohana's answer? But I'm sure he'll be back in the story later..

I feel bad for Minko. She keeps noticing that Touru's falling more and more for Ohana, and she doesn't know what to do about it 😣

Ouch. This episode hurts me expectatives. But continuous a good anime. I think girl of notebook writing the a review, but the mom's of ohana make this a notable surprise.
I hope mixed reactions about Ohana mom's see Ohana Grandmother.
I little sad, because dialogue ohana with koichi, but I hope better moments in the future of the anime.
That's a little pretty Tohru and minchi in tokyo restaurants, but so weak part this moment she not talks much with tohru during this opportunities.

The nicest part of the whole episode was when Minchi thought to herself that it's like a date. Of course they had to ruin the moment with some stupid unreasonable joke. What guy forces a girl to throw up? He's not even the interesting type of jerk, like Holmes or House, he's just an apprentice that tries to act bossy on a weaker subordinate. But I guess that's to be expected when everyone at the inn just angrily spouts commands at each other.

Rest of the drama was so-so and mother's still as squishy as ever. I'd like to see her seducing Tohru though.

I'm glad someone agrees with me on this. But I've been complaining about Tohru since forever, so I don't won't repeat myself here (I'll save it for the album). I could respect the attempt at drama, regarding Satsuki's background and motivations, but he ruined that scene for me, too.

While I still find the Kou-chan subplot really stupid, I like that Ohana was compelled to practice some self-reflection. Too bad the writers chose to keep padding out this plot thread anyways. It's a shame that the bad romance keeps taking precious screen time away from meaningful character interactions and development. (It's also a shame that the romance is so dumb, 'cause it could have been great.)

This episode was no less of a steaming hot mess than its predecessor. But at least it finally ended (maybe?) the relationship between Kou and Ohana. That was getting old so quick. I thought glasses girl telling Ohana to cut him loose was so insufferable. And for that matter Tohru requiring Ohana to bring Kou with them, made no sense. Beyond the sake of plot convenience. But hey fingers crossed it's all over now.

While most of the episode was spent wrapping up the Kou/Ohana romance. That was brought to a head last time. And the rest was spent on an admittedly funny bit, where Tohru takes Minko on a brutal taste testing tour. The end of the episode finds Ohana's Mom unexpectedly joining them back to the inn. I'm a little excited about this. As long as it DOESN'T do what it kind of seems like it might. Where Tohru gets further tangled in romantic subplots after falling for Ohana's Mom.

Ohana's mother at first seemed like nothing but a joke. The sort of emotionally neglectful (often physically abusive) parents you often see in anime. They appear at the beginning to generate sympathy for an unfortunate protagonist. Sometimes to get a cheap emotional reaction when they finally find "where they belong" after leaving the unnecessarily evil bastards who birthed them. It seemed like Ohana's Mom was a minor example of this sympathy begetting trope. But now that she's just agreed to go to the Inn of her own free will. Maybe they'll do something kind of interesting with her. Hopefully.

The confrontation between the bookstore girl and Ohana was great, I'm glad Ohana is slowly becoming more considerate of those around her and focusing more on herself. One thing I disliked was how selfishly she assumed Ohana's feelings for Kou. While what she said about Ohana hurting Kou unintentionally held some truth, she knows nothing about their relationship. Satsuki's conversations with Tooru revealed a lot about her intentions, especially how similar she was to Ohana when she was younger.

Ohana realized how her indecisiveness is hurting Kouichi and the coworker who is in love with him and as she said, she could be the villain of a TV drama, seeing her trying to hold her tears was painful.

I loved how Ohana planned to kidnap her mother and Tooru was even in for that, I really want to know more about him and his feelings towards Ohana, although I don't want Minko to be hurt in the process, I hope it's more admiration towards her personality than anything.

Ohana's mother is coming to the inn, I can't wait to see the events that will happen due to that.

I wonder what made Satsuki change her mind. But maybe she wants to give the Kissuiso another chance, her conversation with Tooru hinted at that.

In any case, next episode is going to be an interesting one.

Ugh, Tooru, are you really jealous of a 16 years old boy?... Well, it can't be helped since romantically speaking, you act like if you were 16 years old too.

I guess that the thing with Kou ends right here without even a proper response from Ohana's part. I can assume he's also tired of waiting at some point and although it was mostly out of self-interest, the megane girl seems to be a better option for him since she at least can be straight forward with her feelings.

The episode itself was... OK, again although it was nice to see more development for Ohana's and Satsuki's characters. I still dislike Satsuki and her teenage attitude tho.

The next episode seems a bit more interesting, being honest. I'm really curious to know what will happen once Satsuki and Ookami face each other.

Nice to see Ohana's mum changing her mind. One of the good points about this series is that while there are antagonists momentarily, the next moment we're given an insight into their motives, showing how everyone has their own reasons for acting the way they do.

In other words, it's not about there being someone who's evil and others who are good, but just people trying to live out their lives. And that makes the series such a comforting watch, people trying to be nice to each other, even if they at times have conflicting interests that are incomprehensible to others. It's well done in the sense of providing just enough conflict to keep it from being boring, but not so much that characters would turn into villains. The ecchi writer is still creepy though.

Very pleasant episode. In comparasion to the last episode it was way calmer whjich makes sense and made me appreciate the last episode a bit more as a contrast and individual tone.
It was also very mature handling Ohana's realization and expressing the mother-daughter kind of relation in reflection to Ohana's current situation and episode conclusions.

The logic in this anime makes me hate it then love it, lol. But I do like Ohana's mother a lot. If only every episode would be like this and drop the love shit. Seeing a 16 years old go after a 23 years old and the latter actually liking one of them is dumb, but other than that I like Tohru a lot. Don't think he's seen as this "perfect being that everyone has to love".

Now, I hope Ohana can stop being annoying af. I have times when I like her and then times when I hate her a lot.

Ohana feels so sad right now I can't bear to see her like that, And the girl that confessed to Ohana said to free him from her which I guess she should have but she just doesn't have an answer yet I guess she should be more honest now

Tooru agreed to kidnap her mom but instead have Kou with her to make Tooru approve of kidnapping her mom, The countless food Minko has to go through that's a lot, Man Ohana really is crying out there but she needs to toughen up and don't blame yourself to be a villain :-;

Well, there she is Satsuki already planned she's going, As they say like mother like daughter it's the same line Ohana said to her mom and her mother to her grandmother, the reality of life's catching up to her slowly but surely.

A lot of melted emotions like Ohana.
KO x Working girl with glasses, the truth is revealed now.
Ohana's mum x Tohru with Min-chi réflexion.
I really like this Sol show. Each character has a personality and all feelings, emotions are not linear. IRL we can make mistakes, dumb shits, travel a lot for nothing, discover that we have to understand feelings from others. 4/5
