| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Chapter 33 of Sankarea just came out in the October 2012 issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine which was published on September 9. The chapter is on pages 176-206 and the title is “Kanousei”, with the English sub-title being “Toxic Zombies”. Rosalie is on the title page. The chapter starts out with Chihiro and Rea walking along the beach at sunset. Rea is carrying Babu. The two are looking at shells and talking. Rea mentions that she feels like they are on a vacation despite the medical exams. Rea's take on the results of the exams is that she is indeed a unique and new zombie, a “Furuya-Rea Zombie”. Now she wants to focus upon making Babu well. Chihiro, in the meanwhile, is thinking back to the discussions that he had with Darlene's father after the exams. Darlene's father was amazed that Rea's cell biology hasn't totally stopped two weeks after her heart and blood flow stopped. Chihiro interpreted this as meaning that there still was a chance of reviving Rea. But Darlene's father told him that the chance of that was zero. As the sun finally sets Babu suddenly becomes a bit more lively and actually makes some sounds. Chihiro realizes that Babu is a night-activated zombie. They go back inside and Rea goes to her room. It has specifically been designed with zombies in mind and while it is very feminine and pretty, it also has a very good air conditioning system. Just as Chihiro is saying goodbye at the door he hears something behind him, turns, and sees Rosalie. Chihiro gets excited like usual, but Rea isn't happy at all and she starts to question Chihiro about his interest in such a little girl zombie. Chihiro starts to fumble his way through an explanation when Rosalie grabs his hand. Rosalie suddenly turns vicious and moves in to bite Chihiro, but Darlene's father appears out of nowhere, shoves his hand in the way and gets bitten instead. Darlene's father injects Rosalie with a drug to knock her out. He mentions to Chihiro that Rosalie is active at night like Babu. He also suggests that the two stay in their rooms at night as he carries off Rosalie. While Chihiro considers what he has just seen, Rea calls to him, and as Chihiro turns around she kisses him and then says goodnight with a smile. Meanwhile in Japan, Mero tells her two astounded girlfriends about Chihiro going off to the Zombie Island. With Chihiro, Rea and Darlene away the house is quiet and Mero only has to worry about her dad. Morning comes on the island and Chihiro is awakened by the bite of an insect. When he looks around he isn't in his room, but instead he is in a wooden stake cage-like hut in the jungle. Chihiro calls out and tries to figure out what has happened. He then smells something, and next sees some figures moving towards him. Out of the jungle walk some very decayed zombies. |

| Waiting for new chapter releases is like torture. I love Sankarea but I hate waiting for the story to inch its way further. Once again, thanks dbaranyi. Your synopsis of each chapter is a lot quicker than waiting for simple scans. Still, I appreciate what they do for the English fans. |
| Walking along the beach... It's Haiti afterall I guess. Though i wonder what kind of beaches could that dirty poor country possibly have. Natural? Polluted? IDK So Chihiro is in the zombie box. It's time to test a zombie lover's greatest obstacle: Living with a crowd of un-moe zombies! |

| And Furuya finally makes it to the first base; possibly the only base he can get into without being a full blown necrophiliac. Kinda disappointing how the kiss was so sudden. All the build-up and teasing from the previous chapters kinda went to nothing. I wish they hadn't spent pages for the three kids and made a double spread highlight of that important moment instead. |
